One of my biggest reservations about getting bacon on a dish I'm not cooking is the amount of variability that comes with it. It's what leads me to opt for sausage patties on my egg sandwiches when I order out.

I see that the bacon strip running left to right looks rigid and crisp whereas the one running up and down falls limp. Did you want this type of contrast? If so, what did it accomplish?

Would not expect a place like Red Robin to have a pumpkin spice milkshake.

Just looked it up and it is made with VANILLA ice cream + pumpkin spice (the cheap way) + caramel (too sweet). Pass.

I want mine made with PUMPKIN ice cream.

Is it Cloverleaf or Loui's? I wanna try those too. Both the original owners of Cloverleaf & Loui's were cooks at the original Buddy's and branched off on their own. Pretty much like every other legendary Pizza joint history.

"Too square-ish" 😂
Found it. Here it is It's called Fredi The PizzaMan. It's in Melvindale, MI which is 10 miles out from Detroit. Dave said "It's the best pizza in Detroit, period." He gave the regular an 8.7 & Tavern style an 8.4 which is elite territory, imo. Try it out when you go & report back. Looks like the Goulash is their best seller other than the pizza but it looks a bit runnie for pasta.

And yeah, imagine that- someone calling authentic Detroit pizza "too square-ish" :smh:

I remember this episode. Completely forgot it's in the Detroit area cause of the pie. Owner seems like a real good dude too. Thanks for this. On the list for sure.

Yeah it's not square like traditional Detroit pizza but it is def a good looking pie. Owner is an angel of a man, dude is super involved in his community which isn't that common anymore. You're most welcome bro 👍.

catching up on a couple of the debates from the last week or so:

- condiments and hot sauces....condiments def in the fridge. hot sauces...depends on the hot sauce. tapatio, valentina def belong out. but then others specifically say to refrigerate which i do

- washing chicken...first i've heard about a vinegar and water bath (which actually makes sense) but tend to agree that just washing with water doesn't do anything

- i keep seeing people post that TJ's garlic onion crunch stuff...it's straight crack, man :hat
