I've yet to try Detroit style in Detroit also. Thinking about heading there next month for a weekend. Got my eye on Buddy's Pizza

Was just watching a video on Buddy's yesterday. Detroit has some real legendary pizza joints. My sis-in-law's family were in Detroit last month & badmouthed their pizza when they got back. For what it's worth, her family are all vegetarian & horrible food critics so I automatically dismissed their thoughts & opinions on Detroit , lol.

Wouldn’t really say pizza in DC area is any worse than Chicago after just going. Unless deep dish is REALLY your thing.

Damn brotha, I never said it was worse. Just don't know if I'm gonna make room for Pizza. Frank & Lukes seem a bit too far. And Frank Pepe too. Kinna had my eye on a few spots. But I don't know. The Timber and Canale place look ok. Have you been to In Bocca al Lupo, 2Amy's, or Red Light Bar & Detroit Pizza? Might be interested in one of those joints.

I love deep dish, Lou Malnatis to be specific. But also like Gino's East & Pizzeria Uno and a few other places. Not just into Deep Dish tho, N.Y style, Neapolitan, Sicilian etc.

I'm not against trying Mumbo Sauce. But i'm only gonna be there for a few days. I got a bottle of some Mumbo sauce a while ago from a spot, I forget the name. It was ok. I know it's not the same thing as being inside the actual top joints in the city, but not sure if I wanna hit up a mumbo wing spot over maybe something like a good BBQ or Seafood joint. Do your BBQ joints have Mumbo sauce also?

basically the Chipotle of pizza. Hits the spot in a pinch but not the real deal. plus the ideal serving size for a solo lunch.

been to Chicago but I think I like the Detroit style deep dish better, too much dough. My Detroit deep-dish experience is frozen pizza lol. Gotta make it out to NYC one of these days and see what they have to offer. SoCal has chains and greasy mom and pops and hipster pizza.

The worst are folks who recommend places they've only googled lol. Can never take those opinions seriously.

Made some tacos. I did not make the tortillas I got them from Home State, they make them fresh daily. I got flour and corn. Corn was not my favorite so I plan on turning them into chips by cutting them up into triangles and frying them or baking them.

I made a green sauce, it came out pretty good. My wife said it taste like what you would get at the taco spot. I charred everything except the avocado before I put them into the blender.

Middle one was the corn. For toppings I kept it simple with green sauce, cilantro, white onion, and added tomatoes because it was going to go bad.

I put the tortillas in the oven to warm up a little

For the past few months I kept forgetting to redeem my FREE food at chic fila. I promised myself I won’t let another Freebie expire on my watch. After my sons bball game we drove over and I got my free Sandwich. Sandwich was pretty good not sure if it’s because it was free or if it was the first thing in had that day or they make quality sandwiches. I never get this from them, only fries and nuggets.
