Pick-Ups today:

Regarding learning how to do alterations the best way is to practice on clothing that you don't have an issue possible ruining. I do all my own hemming now but that took a few trial and errors before I got it right. I definitely ruined a few pants in the process though.

Yeah. I use them on my more expensive shoes including loafers.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that only puts trees in certain shoes.

So I asked my dad this question and he mentioned one of these technical colleges around here but I looked into it and they don't offer any classes. But does anyone know a good way to learn how to alter clothes? I would ask my tailor but I'm sure she won't be too found about losing a customer

Any design schools in the area? Even though they don't have courses, they may be able to recommend teachers.

Ok preciate it. Will look into those.

My normal jeans of choice are 501's in a 38x34/36.

And my recent sneaker pickups have mostly been low tops so i wanted to try a tapered leg look to show off the shoe better instead of the 501's draped over the back of the shoe.

Where is the best place to pick up Levi 508 and 514's?

I like Urban Outfitters since they have washes that no one else has. They also have 510 Khakis which I've never seen anywhere

I can't afford to buy a pro iron and giant board like that. That iron is like $500 and the board probably half that.

You don't need that kind of iron and board to do what he did. You just need a decent non-stick soleplate on your iron and an ironing board.

I've gotten pretty good at ironing all my clothes. I don't usually iron jackets, but I always iron my trousers and dress shirts. I used to be terrible at ironing, but now I got really good. I wouldn't say I'm an "Artisan" like the guy in the video, but I'd like to think I can properly iron clothes pretty well.

I agree but Olivia Wilde and those Do The Right Thing 3's are both fire :pimp:

Could have at least added a pic with Olivia Wilde on it and those IIIs suck.

Wilde > these IIIs > DTRT3's. As if Olivia Wilde wasn't a porn star name already, Jason with the pornstache now too.

I have no ideas who those dudes in the pics are.

Re: camo and the 3s, I had that cooked up in my head for like a month now. Was gonna be my outfit to the Epaulet opening: camo jacket, stonewashed jeans and the 3s. I may switch to the Toro 4s now :frown:

Anyone here ever got suspender buttons put onto their trousers? I'm thinking of getting braces but not sure how far buttons should be and what to put them.

The tailor should be able to guide that. I have two Drake's braces and I used the buttons that came with them for two trousers. Placement is pretty much straight forward. Not sure how you can mess this up. Just try to keep them on the waist line, inner of course and don't go too low.

Yeah, I've always just taken the trousers to my tailor and he puts in buttons that match the color of the pants lining where they are being sewed in. It's a fairly simple procedure so the tailor shouldn't have any problems.

Camo and Jordans... is this 2011?

But honest question - and I know everyone here is a sneakerhead, but don't you find wearing Jordans a bit immature these days? Especially given how status quo Jordans have become in recent years. I got rid of 90% of my Jordans and only kept my NA 1's and my Bordeaux 7's. I have WC IV's but they just wear way too big for me to even bother. Not to mention I hate white sneakers for casual wear.

Oh, and I just wired the funds for my 114060. Should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. Just last year I bought a replica on Canal Street so this is a bit of a trip for me.

Grats on the Sub!

Only Jordans I wear these days are XIVs on the court or the old love 1s casually and it has been months (if not a year) since I've last worn a pair.

I wear what I like. Jordans and Lanvins...yeah I rock both.

FYI cats on NT been wearing camo with Js way before 2011:wink:

@Thug, search "how to sew in a suspenders button" on youtube, done by chelsey Byrd. Ive used this tutorial to do about 3 pairs so far. Super simple.
