I don't watch the show, but it reminded me of a discussion SF had on what you would wear in case of Day Z. Personally, I'd be in some Under Armour sweats and running shoes to outrun these zombies. No suits and ties for me.

If you're just starting out, I suggest going with traditional with minimal break. This is what I did. Now I have some with no breaks as well to mix things up. This goes for both oxfords and balmorals.

either way, i think you are overpaying for those 50inch. I feel like you can find sperrys/sebagos in similar styles for $50-75

Hate is a pretty strong word, my man. You have all sorts of members there, just like you do on NT or any otheer boards. There is a small percentage who are perfectionists that you speak of. SF has been great to me. It taught me a lot, and I networked with wonderful folks on there. I used to be semi obsessive like that, ie worried about both shirt sleeves being shown equally through the jacket, but now I have become more relaxed and as a result, have been enjoying the clothes more. Perfection is unobtainable.

Agreed that hate is a strong word,I lurk SF and I am sure the majority are nice/helpful gents but they are a few with the "holier than thou" attitude that sort of ruins it for me.....

Coat is cool. I have a soft spot for Wallabees. I still have my beat up pair from HS and I break them out every now and then. Probably the most comfortable shoes I own. Those things molded to my feet perfectly.

I would want a pair of light running shoes to improve my cardio and if i'd be running away from walkers a lot. If the world has gone to hell i'd want something comfortable on my feet. I'd have a pair of boots to trek the Georgia woods in. I'm guessing it's really humid down South.
