I saw where you said it was your baseball number. I'm saying, why 17 for baseball? Just because? Random selection?

Man, I forgot to tell ya'll this crazyness.

My daughter's birthday is this weekend. Last year her little princess behind made her mom decorate her cake with MP1708 on it.

Yesterday my wife and I bought her a hat and had MP1708 printed on it in the colors she likes.

Actually tried to snag 13 (Marino) but another player needed it (size issue) so I snagged 17 instead. Always liked Mark Grace so it worked for me fine. Our baseball team was pretty good so 1-7 became my calling card so to speak. If I was smart enough I woulda grabbed 17 for all 3 sports, but no one ever accused me of being smart.

Just a question, who produces more energy off the bench, Sacre or Duhon?

Lakers basketball ain't gonna be the same when #24 retires man.

Ska, before you get upset I know he isn't the whole team and I know there will be good Laker teams at some point in future.

But who is gonna replace the box office personality of #24?

Too many memories to list, good and bad.
But point is...memorable.

17 seasons in and he was still making dudes look stupid on the court last night.

Who else will ever be 17 seasons in making such type of plays in the future for us?

Dude still isn't even done yet. Imagine he plays 2 more seasons and still averages 25 a night shooting 46-50%.

Who is going to give us 19 seasons of high quality entertainment after him?

What athlete gives any team 19 years of quality service?

Look at A-Rod and how bad he's fallen off.
And his sport doesn't even require the same physical training that basketball does.

Look at Peyton manning. Still great, but him
Going to Denver just shows how hard it is for any superstar to stay with a single team for so long. So many things both physically and mentally to take into account for a long productive career with one team.

I don't know man. Whether he wins another one or not, his 19 years will be appreciated and irreplaceable.

I didn't know what it would be like after Magic left when I was a kid. Then Nick Van Exel came along and I was on board. Clearly not the same type of talent, but the same type of heart. 2 years after that, Kobe came, and brought a friend with him. Real big dude. We lost Shaq and never knew if we'd see something like that again, and Pau came. And then Dwight.

And I have yet to speak on the logo, Worthy, the skyhook, Baylor, Drew or LO, Coop, B Scott or even B Shaw.

We will forever have the talent lookin for us. Our brand is immortal. The Lakers will ALWAYS be around.

Any idea how many kids grow up playin ball wanna be Lakers? Build your brand up, you'll get the players you need to succeed.

"If you build it, it they will come"

I do know this tho, Kobe's records are going to stand for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ******g time.

Gonna take one hell of a player to pull thru, play almost 2 decades to get the games, wins, playoff games, wins, points, assists, boards, steals, 3's, shots, attempts, free throws, attempts, 30 point games, 40 point games, 50 point games, minutes, etc etc. His marks are going to be atop the Lakers franchise for a very, very long time. An 18 year old could join the team tomorrow and we'd need to wait almost 20 years for him to start knockin off records.
