To me, he seemed so bland back then. Shows what some confidence, a tan, better physique and a little charisma can do. Because he's really the same character, with the same look, some black or blue truncks, boots and knee pads.

Here's an example from this match he had against Dino Bravo from The Main Event in 1990. His promo in the beginning of this video is also crazy. Peep the 2:45 mark in this video when he pulled Jimmy Hart under the ring and stripped off his pants and jacket! Jimmy Hart screamed like a little girl.

It is a very straight-forward wrestling show that makes sense with LITTLE (not-none) goofiness.
They don't insult the intelligence of their viewers.

More controversy in WCW as they've booked Ron Simmons in a match called a "Ghetto Odds" match (which is just a handicap match) featuring pretty much every black guy they have on the roster, plus Cactus Jack and Barbarian (who is Tongan). Time and time again, Dave says that WCW has shown that they don't know how to book a black babyface without doing racial angles and lists several examples from the last few years.
