DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

I’m a huge DC fan, and they kinda lost me with the last few movies.

Really liked this movie, though. Surprised they fit so much and it didn’t feel as disjointed as BvS. The Flash jokes got a bit heavy handed at times, but I laughed most of the time, so I’ll give it a pass.

Surprised I liked Cyborg as much as I did. They scrapped his solo film, right?

Solid 6.5/8 for me.

Just got through my second viewing and surprisingly I liked it just as much or even more the second time around.

Still didn't really notice the mustache. But I definitely noticed Ben flucating in weight :lol

Originally had a 6.5/8 in my first view, bumped it up to a 6.8/8 after my second view. I just had hella fun with this movie.

Bruh I really don't

The cold part is I know what scenes and I'm like hella trying to look for it and I just don't see it :lol

Someone talkin bout they can literally see some of the green screen on his face and I'm like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While the opening scene was irrelevant and unnecessary, I was more confused that the kids was recording for a podcast :lol

You buggin. The opening scene made it so clear something was off with Supes face.

Then it got real bad when he confronted Batman :lol

Last bad shot(s) was when he showed up to fight SteppenL

I really noticed it when he had Batman yoked up, and that's when I actually remembered the mustache issue

But damn he literally looked like a CGI Superman in that scene

**** move on Paramount's part

Speaking of CG, some of the green screen in this movie was mad egregious. Notable examples off the top of my head are Cyborg and Wonder Woman's conversation, and that scene in the cornfield with Lois. It annoyed me so bad because I watched a movie set in freaking Asgard with less green screen than this, and those two scenes I mentioned take place here on Earth

My quick disclaimer: I admitted it before but I have zero eyes for this type of stuff. So, don't hold me to it

On another note, I read some rumor that one of the scenes that was cut was Stepphenwolf going back to Apokolips and Darkseid being the one to kill him. If that rumor is true, they ****** up big time cutting that scene out :smh: shoulda been the third end credit scene.

Yeah, I really gotta wonder what the thinking was behind that decision.

The whole complaint is they rushed to catch up to Marvel but they don't even have the after credit scene to set up the overall big bad.

want to see what Darkseid looks like, even concept art but he probably looks like trash ala Steppenwolf/Ares

I’m pretty bad at noticing that CGI crap as well.

But this one looked horrible to be. The first scene was atrocious. What was the reason for that? Dude looked so off.

I didn’t really notice the scene where he took on the JL.

That part at the end where the ‘branches’ were growing and going after that little family was garbage. Horrible CGI.

I like some it. It was solid. Could've been a bit longer and had more darkseid. It felt like they wanted to distance themselves from setting him up as the big bad

With this alleged set up for the "injustice league", maybe they want to focus ( I'm assuming) on villains who don't require much CG for the next JL film ( which is fine by me)... Release standalones over the next 6 years. Deathstroke is in development and Black Adam is rumored for Suicide Squad 2...( Maybe Lex will persuade Black Adam to join; I mean who the **** knows?) Then lead into JL2 featuring some of the previous characters mentioned... That could be their "Civil War" but I'm not holding my breath ...All I got...

Since you mentioned it, who would DC even use for the Legion of Doom besides Luthor and Deathstroke, none of the Suicide Squad pose a legit threat to Superman and Wonder Woman. **** everybody besides Batman might not really have an issue with them. We really expect Warner to introduce 4 or 5 plus villains in a JL sequel? At once?

No clue. I'm just throwing **** out there.

Other than Luthor and Wilson

Black Adam , allegedly, is supposed to be introduced in Suicide Squad 2. Black Manta from the Aquaman film... I'm assuming whoever will be the main villain in the Flash film could be an addition... Maybe someone from WW's past in her next film...
