CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLIDER (04/04/14) - BluRay 09/09/14

You can give Norton all the smart lines you want and he'll just come off as someone who happens to be a genius, but not a scientist.

That is probably why Norton said no to the part anyways, it's too small for his liking?

There are different reports though depending which side you listen to on why he was replaced.

The real question is.... how the hell are they able to talk to each other in the end of the Avengers even though none of them have an ear piece?!?!?!?!

not srs

though id love to know

Never noticed that part  I think it's implied they have them. Maybe invisible miniature ear pieces we never saw get distributed amongst them  From what I remember Fury was using them too so probably from him.

As for him out of Avengers, on one possible side where they booted him I think it was cuz of how he took control of Incredible Hulk. He rewrote it himself. To me that's a step farther than when I heard about Will Smith having a movie be rewritten by one of his own writers. No doubt Norton probably got paid extra for doing that the way he kinda just took control (plus the other screenwriters were a bit peeved he said he wrote the whole thing). Keep in mind this is before Feige having any type of plan for a shared universe. The other rumor about Norton working well with others was always complete bull **** to me. There's also the chance he wanted as much money as RDJR (even though they said it wasn't cuz of a money thing).

Then if he declined I can see him not being happy with the role in Avengers and leaving. However, all that science talk would've worked fine with him and Stark. You don't need a more laid back personality to make those scenes work. It would've been nice to see Stark get some real push back in that area and there's no doubt Norton could do that and make it funny, snarky, or w/e else Whedon loves to do in scenes like that.

Yea, but that's not how Banner is supposed to be. I've always envisioned him as more of an introvert.

Think of all the quiet kids who get bullied and just snap and kill everyone. They bottle their tempers until they can't hold it in and then they go on a killing spree. That's more in line with how I envision Banner.

If he was more mouthy and 'pushing' Stark in their interactions that's going against the ideal idea of how Banner is supposed to be.

Banner's argued about science in a commanding manner in his own way with Stark, Pym, Dr. Doom, and Reed Richards in the past before.

He's an introvert socially because of his burden. You know, not getting mad cuz of the green guy but in the realm of science he's as arrogant as the rest and it always shows.

Nothing out of character for him to spar intellectually with Stark about a problem or impending threat.

I'm not going to say he didn't but I'm sure there are also different versions of Banner like there were different portrayals of Spiderman and other comic book characters in the comics. Just like there has been different portrayals of Banner in the movies (x3).

There's different interpretations for sure but I doubt there are any where he's being talked down to and taking it like a ***** when it comes to science. Banner/Hulk =/= Jekyl/Hyde 100%

Well, just because I see Banner as an introvert doesn't mean that I don't think he can't be assertive. He was prpretty assertive when he found out that Fury was making weapons and that's fine. He can be assertive too in intellectual sparring without snark and user witty comments.

In the movie he voiced his opinions just fine without becoming too much like Stark. I didnt see any evidence of him being 'talked down to'

I'm not so much criticizing what Ruffalo did but saying Norton could've done the same just in his way which would've been fine too or better depending on the person.

Maybe he could've added some more but would it have been necessary? This is where we differ. I don't think it's necessary but you do. I liked the quiet, subdued, Banner who is more of an introvert and with the occasional opinion. But it's obvious you want a more extroverted portrayal.

Different tastes.

Primal Fear was good.

On topic, this was one of the best action/spy flicks I've seen. Cap > Bourne and Bond.

I would agree with a few exceptions:

Casino Royale
Bourne Ultimatum
Bourne Identity

And I'm tempted to add Goldeneye, Bourne Supremacy and From Russia, With Love, but I haven't seen em in forever, and I need to see Cap 2 more than once.

Um yeah I didn't say anything about it being necessary. All I'm saying is Norton could've done the job just as good if not better. Whether you want to say it'd be more extroverted and that you liked that Ruffalo version doesn't really matter.

I'm saying I'd prefer Norton, the better actor, who I felt did the best job as Banner to date.

It's more than obvious that this is different tastes, that goes without saying.

the true origin story of the Falcon

Thus Papa Doc's career as a gangster rapper ended when he was outed as a fake thug. Papa Doc or better known as Clarence Wilson, shortly after then joined the military and changed his name to escape the ridicule he faced constantly in 8 mile. Now going as Sam Wilson, he joined the air force, with new found discipline and sense of purpose, Sam Wilson excelled in the force. He was given the chance to test out an experimental exoskeleton suit for military reconnaissance, the Falcon Suit. After his long time partner and friend died, he got an honorable discharge. While out running though he was constantly outrun by an incredibly fit man, that man was Steve Rogers.

Yeah I did but to try and combine the two is just so crazy. Son went from Clarence Wilson to suddenly Sam Wilson for no reason to do that joke.
