BMW = Most Superfluous Car Line-Up? BMW Car Thread - 8Series Revealed

Ive been liking some of the new Audi designs. Big fan of the a/s/rs5 coupe and sportback and the new a6 and a7.

i feel like they haven't evolved much, the A5/S5 sportback is the only one that got my interest

audis exterior has been lackluster as well, they've kind of gotten stuck to the old design and just making minor changes it seems

audi really started out with great designs with the r8 and a5/s5 but they haven't been developing new and exciting designs, they need to produce some of their concept designs like lexus has been doing

Yeah after the R8 i thought it was going to be a different time and evolution for Audi and be more exciting but it has not. Just same ol boring designs etc etc.

2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe

At launch, Americans will get the same powertrains as the X1 and X2. The entry-level 228i xDrive comes with a 2.0-liter turbo four making 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque paired to an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. 0-60mph is dispatched in 6.0 seconds while the 228i xDrive reaches an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h) when the vehicle is equipped with all-season tires and 151 mph (243 km/h) when fitted with performance tires.

Moving up to the sportier M235i xDrive gets you a tuned version of the 2.0L four delivering 301 hp between 5,000 and 6,250 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm, again paired to an eight-speed auto and standard AWD. BMW claims a swift 4.7 seconds for the 0-60mph (96km/h) or 4.6 seconds with the optional M Performance Package’s overboost function, and a top speed of 155 mph (250km/h) when equipped with performance tires.

BMW Unveils M Performance Parts For New 2 Series Gran Coupe
At the front, there’s a high-gloss black grille as well as carbon fiber M Performance mirror caps. As for the rear, BMW has developed a subtle gloss black lip spoiler, which that is said to be functional and actually helps to reduce lift, and M Performance stainless steel tailpipes with a carbon fiber casing.

Two different summer wheel options are available through the M Performance Parts catalog. These include 18-inch M Performance 554 M forged wheels and 19-inch M Performance double-spoke 555 M ones. Both come finished as standard in Jet Black, but the 19s can be finished in two-tone black and silver, while the 18-inch wheels can be equipped with winter tires. Moreover, a second set of 18-inch M Performance 556 M Bicolor wheels in Cerium Grey are also available in winter spec.

Inside, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe can be optioned with a bespoke steering wheel with Alcantara surfaces and a red marking in the center of the wheel. Customers can also option M Performance steering wheel paddles in carbon fiber frabic as opposed to the standard chrome surface. BMW has also designed M Performance floor mats, unique LED door projectors, an M Performance key holder, and M Performance tire bags should owners ever need to transport their tires.

it's OK but it looks like it's gonna end up being just like every other range of Beamer which is what the thread was about in the first place IIRC. it doesn't have the Lexus type huge grill so at least they're making things a bit diverse from a visual standpoint for now. I'm thinking the i8 was the rare & unusual BMW of this decade and they should be pretty cheap in a few.

im bad at predicting prices but yeah i dont think its gon' go for much, its probably gon cost a lot to change the battery on 'em its about that time for those that first released in 2014/2015(?)

damn, looks like bmws serious about those giant kidney grills, i think these are suppose to be production pic of the m3/m4
