BLACK MAN SHOT WHILE JOGGING IN GEORGIA

In a vacuum, if you were to witness some dude moving sketch and enter your neighbors crib you wouldn’t confront him? I would. Again tho I don’t pack so nobody except myself would be getting shot.

and mind you i live in a state where everyone carries.

What makes it "sketch" though? If the house was a just a frame, could be a contractor/inspector/et for all I know.

A laborer who forgot his phone. A neighbor checking out the floor plan. A jogger seeing if there was some place more appropriate than outside to take a piss. IDK. Dude ran in and ran out. Wasn't like he was snatching copper in the middle of the night.

So looking around a construction sight in broad daylight=grounds for murder. Got it.

Cue the video of the white dude this weekend running around his neighborhood with a tv in his hand and everyone was laughing and waving at him. Let's reverse the roles and see what happens...actually let's not because we've seen it happen thousands of times.

stupid.

You live in a state where everyone carries except you and you’d do that?

When you could just call the cops?

Are you ok?

Based on who's account? The guys that killed him? The same guys that claimed there were break ins only to find out nothing was previously reported.

there’s video out. I just seen it earlier on WS. Dude narrating broke down the entire chain of events. Homie def ran up, looked around and ran in.

I'm very surprised to learn that people in this thread walk around construction sites. I never knew that was a thing.
After seeing and hearing new evidence... I don't feel so confident that they'll get convicted. It's gonna get real tricky with terms like probably cause, citizens arrest and danger.
I wonder what the law expects you to do if someone is shooting demands at you with a gun.
It's wild bc you could feel like your life is threatened and go after the gun-holder to protect yourself, however this will likely startle the armed individual and probably cause him to shoot. That's exactly what I think happened I'm this situation.

Have any of you ever been approached by someone with a gun? What did you do? Did you try to grab it/attack, did you freeze or try to get away?

Those dudes are going to jail.

Walking on a construction site=robbing a place.

This isn't that hard, or it shouldn't be.

Yea I’m fine. I don’t call police.
So you just harass people who aren't in the act of committing a crime?

Every now and then I'll drive around a nice neighborhood doing nothing but daydreaming about a future in a spot like this. However I've greatly underestimated how many nutjobs out there like this who would see me as "not belonging" so I'll stop. Add to the list of regular *** **** I have to be concerned about being black in America.

As a black man you always gotta be aware of your surroundings. Can’t be naive thinking ****s sweet. Fam didn’t deserve to die but he was most definitely on some bozo ****
To be quite honest, this is where being too trusting of white people, will definitely get you into trouble. I cannot say what was on this Brother’s mind, but if you’re running around in a white neighborhood THINKING that some “good “ white people are around? You’ve already started off on the wrong foot.

Had a house built in a new development in 2009.

PLENTY of folks already lived in the development. It was on a Saturday. Broad daylight.

It was just a frame at the time.

I came to check the progress, took pics and looked around MY HOUSE.

Nobody would be able to tell it was my house or not just by looking at me.

Nobody was there - no construction folks, no escort, just me and a friend of mine.

WTF are y'all even talking about???

Im Black BTW...if that matters to you.

Still have the pics.

I also wasn't aware of people just looking into construction sites.

Only time I am around a nice neighborhood, outside of knowing somebody around there, is driving through nice neighborhoods looking at XMAS Lights.

Happens all of the time. My wife and I (both Black) had a home built a few years back and we can't tell you how many times realtors and randoms would be walking through our home after hours. Maybe because contruction has been booming in Colorado it is a normal thing but this is ridiculous to assume folks are up to no good just because they are looking at a construction site.
