Lowkey the exact reasons I just stopped playing pickup with randos.

We played physical growing up, but the guy hooking his arm around him is too much. I would've eventually shoved him off of me or walked away.he fouled damn near every time but that's how 1s normally looked when i was growing up when both people were competitive (guaranteed if $$$ was on the line)
Embarssing....she wouldn't do me like that.

Who's your NBA comparison b
she can hoop a lil bit, or it would seem at least better than the average la fitness pickup bruv…so it’s a lose-lose type situation…you’re not really getting points for locking her up & taking her too light she might go off, better to not engage too seriously

Running around is a lot of it, as was just said^
I play with a guy that has been on fire for about a month now because most guys aren't trying to run around screens or literally chase a guy from one side of the court to the other. He can get off a shot in an instant. And if you get through and deny the 3, he'll go to the basket where he's decidedly less dangerous but he can still finish reliably enough that it's frustrating, especially because he's relatively short and not that athletic.
I try to keep a hand up and get a block. Even if you never get a block again, that hand up makes them think about it out of the corner of their eye. But then again I'm the weirdo that loves playing defense and has sneaky long arms.
