Yeah they need to just update the rules to close the loopholes, that's it. You could make it look even more absurd than it does, by pausing longer at each step and acting like you're shooting. So that first "gather" step, go up like you're shooting, then jump back on one foot, act like you're shooting, then jump to another foot, act like you're shooting.

Just a loophole in the rules that needs to be closed with updated, sufficient language to reflect how 99% of people actually have played the game on endless courts around the world for decades.

why tho? if a player can manage the footwork, and the shot fakes, all while basically keeping a live dribble without ever placing their hand under the ball and away from the defender fluidly…why wouldn’t you want to see that?

My 12 year old son mentioned a new one, to me after a couple of tournaments. He said he assumes kids wearing Kobe sneakers are really good. 🤣 it was more like 70% weren’t that good while 30% of the kids wearing them had game
