Man, social media done drastically changed the game, and LOL @ anyone being able to be a rapper nowadays. If anything mass media/technology has made it possible for anyone to become a rapper, thus saturating the market, and making it harder to blow up/stand out. Whether you like the music or not, you can't argue with the talent.
As far as the music, female rapping IMO is an acquired taste that I just can't seem to get around to.
