The appeal for me is the artistic/Art Deco aspect of it...it may be the first pair tho that if I can score for retail may buy a pair for the old lady. She likes'em.

No not at all.  As someone who's seen both, the person giving up the medics is definitely losing.  Based on gl3 25th anny hype it's the koi, but the medics are flames in person.  Personal opinion, though
