adidas Continues to Dominate the Market Vol. nike hold this kevin hart

the thing is Jordan brand died because hypebeasts moved onto Adidas, Adidas will probably stay around at #2 for a while but I can't see them ever challenging Nike for #1 unless Nike's corporate team is so out of touch they don't get it but signing Kendrick tells me they get it

the same dudes dropping $1000 for Yeezy's were the ones dropping $1000 for Jordan 1 OG's 4-5 years ago, this is why I don't see them ever coming close to #1

Nike should have never got rid of kanye. Once ye, the kardashian/jenner clan, and all of the taste makers associated with them switched to adidas all their ig followers switched too. I know it sounds like i'm giving them way too much credit but they literally have millions upon millions of followers who watch their every move, dye their hair like them and wear the clothes and shoes that they do.

This guy hit the nail on the head. In 2013 I bought a pair of '94 OG 1s from Japan for about a stack.

Now this is what I rock :rollin

Like dude said, us hype beats have mostly moved on. Still always got love for Nike. They gin be alrighttt

People say this, but I wonder if they buy any of this "heat".

Ultraboost or NMD's aren't selling like they used to, because they're releasing more colorways in higher numbers. The all white japan NMD's are sitting. And the 4.0's don't look promising.

Only the consortium releases are in high demand.

Adidas is in a good spot but it's not easy to stay there because eventually the exclusivity wears off and we see it with the UB, NMD's and Yeezys

so they need the "next big thing hit", I think this is where Nike is struggling, the Vapormax's are a hit but they aren't what the Flyknit Racers were back in 2012

I really thought the Lunarcharges would do it like Roshes did but they were pretty much a bust

How do those pure boosts run? Big like the white joints from last year? I feel compelled to own a pair.

if you triumph adidas being number 2, how can you call someone a nike fan boy for pointing out adidas hasn't outsold the monarch....... that makes zero sense

zig tech is still the best running shoe i've ever used

Yeah they run a little bigger than ultraboost IMO but I think that's just because the Y-3 don't come with an insole.

I am surprised the Reigning Champ x Adidas stuff doesn't sell

I copped the Alphabounces for $59.50 and the plain tee and hoodie for $21.25 and $55.25, all that for $136 is a pretty damn good deal

Anyone who buys boost can tell buy the boost and NMD thread the hype is dying down. Those threads used to move. Even when there's a release, unless it's a consortium release it doesn't move the way it used to.

A lot of the people buying NMD's and boost now are playing catch up. They hear Adidas is what's hot. Those of us who were buying 1.0's don't really care for the 2.0's, 3.0's.... And you need but so many black, navy, olive boost anyway.

Look at the multi 3.0. That's pretty much sums up everything with Adidas recently. They sold out, but the resell is retail. A year ago, they would have a resell value.

The 93/17 hype isn't there. You can find everything besides the first two colorways.

Iniki's are actually good and affordable, but they aren't in huge demand.

Pharrell's............ Way too many colorways at once.

Adidas built the hype, but now they're trying to make money and putting out a bunch of releses. Which JB began to do, and it over saturated the market.

I don't think Adidas footwear cares for what the resell market is doing as long as they are growing in the retail space.

Nike footwear is hurting because they produced too much crap for brick and mortar stores. The shoes people actually want are only given in limited quantities. Places like Finishline have to resort to steep sales to move the products out. As a result, they close down stores that aren't turning a large profit; so less outlets for Nike to move product.

That's one of the reasons Nike made the venture with Amazon to directly sell shoes on there.

While Adidas footwear hasn't reached the peak appeal Nike footwear has had in modern times, it will get there eventually if it stays on course.

Even if Nike is losing money, is there any reason to why they'll release more limited items and miss out on more potential earnings?

Nike's biggest problem is they are getting shredded in the basketball market right now

the Lebron 15 looks like it will be a big hit but not sure the regular consumer will pay that for a basketball shoe but with Kith attached they are trending up IMO

nah not necessarily

i bought boost now cuz hypebeasts were cleaning out stock in my size (11-11.5) and i actually wanted a pair cuz i kept hearing how incredibly comfortable they are. dont give a damn bout whats hot, im after comfort these days. cant do plastic air gordons that feel like you driving with no shocks

As comfy as my Ultraboosts are, they raise my foot up a little too high for my taste and my foot feels like it sinks in when I step. In terms of running shoes I own, I rank:
1. Asics Nimbus
2. Pegasus 33
3. Ultraboost

ive heard that runners, i mean serious runners, dont even rock nike or adidas like that they prefer other brands

Yeah, when I worked at FNL they always encouraged us to push Brooks. Most people were turned off by the designs though.

um off white vlone fog?

None of those brands you listed are in the same realm of the brands Sir San Diego Sir San Diego was referring to though.

I just hope all ya " adidas heads " keep that same energy when the bc3s drop

 @ " adidas heads ", you sound ridiculous. This isn't Crips versus Bloods my dude, people can like all brands and still point out obvious criticism without swearing a blood oath to a corporation.

Jordan's brand prestige is falling. The younger crowd doesn't have the "Jordan's > everything" mindset. They didn't really grow up in a time where either MJ was playing or his shoes were held to a high standard. They grew up on price gauging, difficult releases and cheap, plastic "leather".

So when dude mensions BC3, a 15 year old probably isn't going to be too pressed to get those.
Nostalgia for that item isn't there for them.

The trend setters and stars these days aren't really boosting the Jordan name even if they are wearing a pair. Most name drops tend to be designer stuff.
