adidas Continues to Dominate the Market Vol. nike hold this kevin hart

Went to my local mall at Finishline for the first time in months and noticed some of the changes.

For first time ever the walls by the entrance where rearranged by Adidas first then Nike and lastly Jordan’s.

Adidas merchandise was also upfront as well.

Muiltiple Nike’s with sale discounts and Jordan 13’s Breds still sitting.

Something you will not see in years past. Kanye really got the last laugh.

The only Nike’s that look like we’re selling and no discounts were the Vapormax and Huraches.

Which is crazy because to me all these Adidas are trash and straight copy from Nike. The Vapormax alone look more better to me than any Adidas.

I do give it up to Adidas on their apperal clean designs and better prices. All Nike’s nice pieces at the store were ridiculous prices. $130 for a hoodie. Crazy.

all of this from one trip to the mall?

For a store to move nike from the front of the store is pretty significant.

I never thought I will see this happen.

My Finishline has always been like that. They've done that so you walk in the store and look at all the other product. They want you to spend more time in the store.

if you're upset about being able to cop j's on discount.......

Ehh, grain of salt really.

From a branding perspective Adidas pays for the premier shelf space. IE Finish line didn't just say man these Js are wack now put them with the reeboks.
Also, Nike makes a majority of its income from digital and outlet platforms. Hell, Nike operates at a loss with regards to a majority of their NIKETOWN locations for sake of brand exposure.

Nike is still top dog, and realizes that being attached to stores that are failing.....Footlocker, FL etc....might not be the best move.

I can't even remember the last time I actually bought shoes from a shoe store at the mall. Even boots I find them discounted online and order.

Same.

Last time I went to a FTL was to return something I bought online

Bought some loafers from Journeys last year. Outside of that, I want to say the Red Suede 4s.

Nikes are still moving quicker in retail stores than adidas. The dudes buying Vapormaxes and Boosts are a very very small minority of Nike and adidas' consumers. The Pegasus (a shoe not a lot of sneakerheads even know about) is selling quite well and sells better than most adidas' models. And yes, the Monarch will always be Nike's best selling shoe ever and no adidas model comes close to that.

  1. Nike’s Jordan brand, in particular, has faced problems. It has always thrived on exclusivity, but analysts believe it may have tarnished its image by putting out too many shoes, many of which are the old styles the brand has long leaned on and don’t offer anything fresh. Adidas managed to overtake Jordan as the number-two brand in US sports footwear recently, largely by capitalizing on the fashion shifts in the US, according to the research firm NPD Group.

Nike is actively working on these issues. On yesterday’s call, Nike brand president Trevor Edwards said he is focused on managing the brand’s “balance between scarcity and scale.”

Adidas shares sank on the German stock exchange Tuesday after the FBI arrested James Gatto, the top marketing executive for the sports apparel company’s basketball division, on corruption charges.

"Today, we became aware that federal investigators arrested an Adidas employee. We are learning more about the situation. We’re unaware of any misconduct and will fully cooperate with authorities to understand more," Adidas said in a statement.

The company’s stock fell more than 2.5% in Frankfurt trading. Adidas’ U.S.-listed shares also fell more than 2.5%.

Gatto was one of the 10 individuals, including NCAA assistant basketball coaches, financial advisors and managers, as part of a federal probe into two separate corruption schemes. Authorities allege that Gallo conspired to funnel thousands of dollars in payments to top high school basketball recruits. In exchange, the recruits purportedly agreed to commit to Adidas-sponsored schools.

U.S. Attorney Joon Kim said Gatto used fake invoices and false entries to hide the alleged payments on the company’s books. Officials declined to identify Adidas by name and said no other executives from the international sportswear brand are suspected of wrongdoing.

Are you still drunk?

Are we really suppose to believe Adidas had no idea bout this happening?

Dude was giving away six-figures and Adidas has no knowledge of it?

In FBI documents, Gatto conspired with several individuals on a massive illegal bribery scheme, which included an attempt to pay one player and his family $100,000 to get him to a school of Gatto’s choice. Another player was paid $150,000 with the expectation that the player would sign with Adidas when he went to the NBA.

i never saw the issue with players taking money from ppl if the NCAA aint gonna pay him

that's another topic that needs to be covered now that the world is fascinated with this "shut up and play boy" mentality for the next week or so
