The Kyler deal doesn't change anything as its always been Lamar's floor. The AAV of Kyler's guarantees ($32 mil) is roughly equal to the 2023 exclusive franchise tag. That number jumps to $45 mil if Ravens use the non-exclusive but Lamar could sign somewhere else though the Ravens get 2 FRPs in return.

The Ravens been trying to sign him but he's been holding off letting the market take shape. Watson's deal is still the bar and it would be insane if he negotiated a quarter billy fully guaranteed contract all by himself with no agent. Forget the NFL, that would have ramifications throughout the entire professional sports landscape. If no deal gets done then Lamar will make between $50-70mil fully guaranteed between this year and next. Not a bad spot to be in.

I'm a fan of the man baby but it was a bit off putting the offseason shenanigans he was doing wanting a new contract, meanwhile Lamar a former MVP with better track record than him laying in the cut waiting to be paid.

Kyler can't have no late season dropoff like he normally does this season though. Got paid like a franchise QB, now it's time to show and prove.
