2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

Rondo is the shining example of what you can get away with when you're 25 vs when you're 30.

Better get that attitude in check.

Come in to @DipsetGeneral talking about all Anthony Davis has done in the NBA is win rookie of the year, and score 63 points...and NOT make first team all NBA . What? Literally none of that has happened.

1. He didn't win ROY. Lillard did
2. His career high was 59 points....which also included 20 Rebounds :x
3. He's already made ALL NBA 1st team. 2015
4. He's like 23. Last year at this time...y'all were saying he's already the "best player in the league" ESPN had an article on it....this year, he's "overpaid". Hot takes man.

The only thing correct about AD is he's injury prone. When healthy though...he's easily one of the top 10 players in the league.

Now dudes are saying KAT >> AD. Y'all gotta chill and let things play out man

I always just figured something was wrong with the guy so I never reacted to the things he says. Something about the way he posts makes it seems like he may have Asperger syndrome.

Average payroll of all 30 teams is $96.8m with CLE, POR, LAC, DAL, MEM, SAS, TOR, DET, WAS and ORL rounding out the top 10 in salary.

So much for small market teams not being able to compete.

We established a while ago in the music forum that dipest general is special.

Get ya mans

In a December interview with Charley Rosen published Friday on Today's Fastbreak, Phil Jackson bemoans the lack of fundamental skills in today's NBA and how they hurt the Knicks' attempts to run the triangle offense. "Today's players simply lack the skills to play the triangle. They know how to play one-on-one, catch-and-shoot, and they've mastered crossover dribbles, spins, playing off of screens and step-back shots. They don't know how to execute things like inside-reverse pivots and other basic footwork. They have no sense of timing or organization. They don't really know how to play five-on-five basketball," he said. The Knicks will continue to run the triangle this season. Sounds like new coach Jeff Hornacek will have plenty of teaching to do.

Rondo is great in important games, he just hasn't played in one in years

He's not worth the headache he brings. This was a really good read on him if anyone missed it LINK
I remember Kevin Eastman two years ago telling me about Rondo's Brilliance. Said Rondo and DJ were two of the brightest minds he'd ever seen in the NBA. They pick up other team's playbooks like no other, calling other team's plays before the coaches do even. Said that Rondo would often call out the sets of other teams before the opposing PG did.

Phil with this dated "back in my day" nonsense.

We just saw the Spurs win with team ball. The Warriors win with team ball. The Warriors win 73 games with team ball. The Cavs win with pure heart...and one of the greats having a defining moment. Everything he's talking about was happening when he won his last 3 rings.

Basketball today is at its best it's ever been. (I do hate sprinting to the 3pt line during fast breaks though).

Bruh inside reverse pivot is super basic buddy trying to act like it's complex footwork
