To us at FootballScoop it would seem a bit unusual for Florida to put an offer into a coach’s hands and then hope he accepts. Just seems a bit off.

When comparing $4 M to $4.3 M…there really is no difference. If the report is accurate, this isn’t about economics. This is about what your priorities in life are. For Freeze, is it about reaching the pinnacle of the profession or is about about family and being proud of who you are and where you are from and what you stand for? Everything Hugh does publicly would lead you to believe he’s thrilled to be the head coach in his home state (and darn near his hometown). Does he have a burning desire to win it all? Sure. Can he do that at Ole Miss? You bet. Might it be a bit easier at Florida? Yeah, probably; but is he willing to change who he is to achieve that goal? I don’t know; but I don’t think so. My gut tells me Hugh will sign an extension at Ole Miss; but my gut doesn’t have a vote here. I haven’t spoken directly with Hugh on this so I can’t tell you exactly what he is thinking.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on The Scoop  as this all plays out.

Didn't know Frezee was already making 4 mil at Ole Miss. Foley get the damn Brinks truck. 5 mil may be enough. Puts him up there with Sumlin.

Even Joe rose just said it. Golden's not going anywhere but what's going on now is not working. The talent is not equalling the wins.

Defense has always been a staple at UF. The owner is the problem, he's an offensive coach. Perfect marriage. If he can recruit that well at Ole Miss, just imagine what he can do at UF.

We need a decent QB though first off that's the root of everything. Treon showed flashes, just don't know if he was being handcuffed by.Roper or what. Guess him and Grier will battle it out for the starting job next season.

2 sources in Oxford have confirmed Ole Miss HC Hugh Freeze has turned down Florida offer. (Which he WAS given!)

Schefter, who went to Michigan, made his comments on ESPN's "Mike and Mike" radio show Monday morning. The comments were reported by MLive.com

Speculation is heavy Michigan will fire coach Brady Hoke. Harbaugh, the San Francisco 49ers' head coach and a former Michigan quarterback, would be the fans' top choice to replace Hoke.

"I've had a lot of people ask me, 'Could Jim Harbaugh wind up at Michigan?' I'm not going to tell you he can't, but based on everything I've been told and heard, I do not see that happening," Schefter said during the radio interview, according to MLive.com.

On Sunday, Schefter reported if the 49ers make the playoffs this season, Harbaugh could be rewarded with a contract extension in San Francisco. Schefter attributed his information to sources.

One NFL source told Schefter the Raiders would be the favorite among NFL teams to land Harbaugh.

"To me, the Oakland Raiders are the obvious landing spot," Schefter said Monday during the radion interview. "It would mean he could stay in the Bay Area; I'm sure he and his family are happy about that idea."

FWIW Schefter reported in 2010/11 that Harbaugh was probably coming.

Is he even that good a coach...? He's an offensive guy, so aside from recruiting he can't really take the credit for that defense I don't think?

That's what I was wondering, having success at ole miss isn't the same as Florida. Not saying he isn't a good coach but one good year at ole miss wouldn't make me throw the checkbook at him. Maybe I haven't followed them enough. Oh well he turned it down anyway

Lots of whispers that Michigan decommit Mike Weber is silent to the Trojans.

The next guy from cass tech to do something will be the first

Not really, but I mean only three dudes are in a nfl roster...and they are gholston, barksdale, and big will

^ will gholston went to Southeastern.
