Biggest reason rose won mvp is because two of his starters (booze, noah) missed significant time and he carried an already shaky offense to 60+ wins. That was the deciding factor. People want to compare his numbers to westbrook or Lebron but those guys were playing with harden, durant, bosh, and wade.

So basically your saying KD only won the MVP because Westbrook was out part of this season

Wade played 76 games, was 25/6/5 on 50% shooting and took MVP votes from LeBron. If u put subbed Wade for Rose that year Chicago probably beats Miami

Taj and Asik anchored the best defensive 2nd unit in the league. Korver and Watson rounded out the best bench in the league. Deng, Boozer and Noah were damn good that year.

At the time, it looked like Rose was carrying that team to 62 wins so I have no provlem with him winning MVP. But in hindsight, that team had a ridiculously good bench, 3 really good starters including one DPOY and considering Chicago management gave everyone away after Rose got hurt - those teams were still good. Clearly Thibs and their balance/depth had a lot to do with that record.

I hear you. But like I said, rose carried the offense all season even when two of his starters went down. All the mvp candidates had great teams but rose stood out because of his situation. I agree with you, I'm saying I don't think rose wins mvp if boozer (a month) and noah (2 months) didn't miss time

Edit - but now that I think about it that's a good point. KD went berserk when russ got hurt and lebron was below average for a stretch during that time. The mvp race was close but kd solidified it for himself when russ went down

Rose jumpshot was still questionable last season but he didnt lose a step athletically

Cuz his hyped up comeback never really happened
And him missing out one of the playoffs while he was technically 100% kinda made people see him as not really caring about the team

That video (hat tip: Tom Ziller of SB Nation), according to the title, is Blake Griffin  visiting a Croatian city on the Adriatic See. As you can see, he’s backflipping into the water, which seems like a fun way to spend a vacation.

However, consider this timeline:

• April 19-May 15:  Clippers’ playoff run
• June 28: Video of Griffin’s backflip posted to YouTube
• July 14: Team USA announces player pool, including Griffin, for World Cup team
• July 24: Team USA announces Griffin has withdrawn with official release containing no mention of injury. Team USA managing director Jerry Colangelo says he learned of Griffin’s decision that day and was caught off-guard
• July 28:  A report claims Griffin withdrew due to a back fracture he suffered in playoffs, an injury the Clippers reportedly didn’t know about

Maybe the backflip occurred a year before and was only recently posted to YouTube. Maybe this is one of those back fractures that doesn’t preclude backflips but does interfere with basketball. Maybe Griffin actually injured his back after the playoffs and during or after the backflip. Maybe Griffin didn’t injure his back at all. Maybe…

I won’t pretend to know what happened here, but something doesn’t add up.
