2014 NBA Draft Thread

I Was Right, Marcus Smart Maybe To Magic! I Need This To Happen!

Orlando Magic executives love Smart's intangibles. They value his leadership, toughness and competitiveness so much that they might select him fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft on June 26. Orlando Sentinel - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.PF3bnTaj.dpuf

Huge draft for GM Rob Hennigan. Vic, Afflalo, Harkless, Harris, Vucevic, Nicholson. To go with #4 and #12. Hennigan ultimately wins if somehow Bari, Wiggins, or Embiid fall. Otherwise force a team like the Lakers to trade up for Exum. Or stay put and select Exum. Exum, Dipo, Harkless, Harris, Vucevic. Trade Afflalo to a contender needing leadership, defense, and perimeter shooting. BPA at #12. Likely a developmental prospect like Saric. Or Hood, Stauskas depending how the cards fall. Weak Eastern Conference, with the right selections, Orlando isn't far from competing for a playoff spot and looking like the winner from the D12 trade.

And out of all those youngsters, only Oladipo and Vucevic move the needle.

Hennigan needs to hit a home run with these two picks.

Hard to mess up #4. Take whoever falls between the big-3 or Exum. Otherwise leverage another club into trading a major haul for the Australian.

After the D-Whine Lakers saga and the first round exit in Houston (plus the development of Vucevic & Harkless), the Magic have LONG been the winners

Yes, but no one thought or recognized that initially. Hennigan hasn't gotten enough credit for not falling to D12 pressure when he wanted Brooklyn. Waited patiently for the right, fair haul to setup Orlando for the next 10 years.

The Dwight Howard & Deron Williams trades were wins for the teams they left, however the Carmelo Anthony trade was the most lopsided trade for the home team in recent history. The Nuggets received Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Timofey Mozgov & Kosta Koufos, plus New York's first-round draft pick in 2014, second-round picks in 2012 and 2013 and cash. Carmelo has only won 7 playoff games total since being in New York, and the Nuggets have 5 wins.

Best GM in professional basketball. You know the answer.

Ujiri the Great, pillages like Alexander.

What you think of Leonard now, Buc Em? Still prisoner of the moment? I'm not even a big Lenoard guy but like I said, if you can get him with a top 3 pick you do it every time
