2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

why they choose that pic though lmao..just makin fam look mad flamboyant

Say he turns out to be a star in the league would you buy yourself or your kid a Michael Sam jersey?

It's not that bad. Most defensive players do something similar after a turnover (I'm assuming thats what just happened in that picture). It's an interesting story it'll be interesting to see what this does to his draft stock, which it shouldn't do anything to it, but it'll also be interesting to see how he is treated by his teammates.

if trayone gray qualifies he's gonna be the best recruit not named chad thomas

plays like ricardo louis

You're thinking of Jordan Wynn who he himself is also on a blazing track up the coaching ranks.. Brian Johnson was the QB who wrecked Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in 08. Hell he wrecked everybody in 2008.

What ever happened to that Kentucky qb I forgot his name but he was there qb the last time they were relevant about 5 years ago maybe I think he was number 3

how long til muschamps on the hotseat?

do they fire him for less than 8 wins? or he goes into 2015 having to save his job?

He's done if we don't have a significant turnaround, especially on offense this season. Win number I don't know, but we do play @Bama, @ FSU, host LSU and USCe so that's probably 4 losses right there. I just hate they didn't fire him last year, cause that job should have been Charlie Strong's for sure, but then the hick boosters up in Gainesville probably just as bad as Texas, so who knows.

If UF didn't go 4-8 they would have had a stuuuuuupid 2014 class

Would have had a Top 5 QB WR and RB, but still happy with how the class closed out.

He is now on the Hotseat.  A lot of boosters wanted him out before this season.  If there is not significant improvement, he is done.

I was pretty split whether I wanted him back or not, but we are now setting the standard pretty low where he "just has to show improvement".

He got a huge reprieve by having the 12-2 season in 2012, but when 3 starters left for the NFL on Defense, and you lose your 1,100 rusher, some of those games that could have easily been losses in the 4th quarter of 2012, turned into losses in 2013.  Not to mention GA Southern.

Reasonable Losses to keep his job: 4

Anything more, he needs to go.

^ No idea who that is. I'll ask though.

New info re: Malik McDowell

ive-star defensive end Malik McDowell was the only class of 2014 prospect ranked in the Rivals250 who did not send in a letter of intent last week, and a resolution to his recruitment may not come for several weeks.

McDowell announced a commitment to Michigan State over finalists Florida State, Michigan and Ohio State on National Signing Day. He did not follow up that commitment by sending a letter of intent to East Lansing, however.

Malik McDowell is the only unsigned prospect in the class of 2014 Rivals250.
The choice of Michigan State was McDowell's, but his parents have been clear that they would like to see their son at one of his other finalists. Exploring those possibilities more in-depth is likely over the coming weeks according to his father, Greg McDowell.

"I know he is open to taking some unofficials to Florida State and Ohio State," Greg McDowell said. "We plan on doing some unofficials and see if he and his mom can resolve this. It's possible she'll be open to Michigan State as well, so we'll have to see."

Greg McDowell also noted that Michigan is still in the picture, and conversations are ongoing with all three schools finalists he did not pick on National Signing Day.

"One thing I have to say about those schools is after hearing everything, they were calling -- not on the recruiting aspect, but calling to see if the family was all right," Greg McDowell said.

While last Wednesday is known as National Signing Day, it was technically the opening of the signing period, and prospects have until the end of March to send in a letter of intent before that signing period closes.

Since Feb. 7, NCAA FBS member institutions have been in a Quiet Period, meaning they are not allowed to have face-to-face contact with prospects off-campus but can telephone and have on-campus contact with recruits. The Quiet Period stretches for the duration of the remaining signing period.

Although there are seven weeks left before the signing period closes, McDowell's planned unofficial visits are expected to commence shortly.

"They'll be jumping off soon," Greg McDowell said. "We plan on getting down to Florida State as soon as possible, and with Ohio State being a three-hour ride, we'll drive over and sit down."

With additional research, additional conversations and the microscope of National Signing Day passing, Greg McDowell is optimistic a resolution can be reached and a letter of intent will be signed and delivered.

"We have until April 1 to decide, so hopefully within the coming weeks we will have something," he said.

Sounds like McDowell's mom genuinely thinks MSU would be a poisonous environment for him and is making her decision from an academic and parenting perspective (when she's pushing Michigan and not State. I'm basing this entirely off the rumors of her seeing/overhearing things on their visit.)  And sounds like his dad likes FSU's coaches and wants him to go play for the team on top right now.
