this was really a no excuse yr for the clips and they failed. they had enough pieces to win the whole chip. just failed. F grade in my book

I said at the beginning of the season that this is not a championship team. You are not winning a chip with Barnes as your starting 3, Blake taking stupid jumpers, a center who can't hit free throws and Glen Davis breathing heavy once he starts jogging.

Chris Paul is still a great PG and everyone has the right to bash him for his hiccups and other mistakes, but this was NOT a championship team since day ONE :lol
Sorry but I dont buy this for one second.  Not a championship caliber team?

  • Supposed best point guard on the planet and NBA superstar
  • Top 3 PF in the NBA (or top 5 if you want to be modest)
  • Top 3 defensive Center in the NBA
  • 6th Man of the Year
  • Deepest Bench in the NBA
  • Championship caliber head coach

So in spite of the "holes" you are talking about, how is this not a Championship quality team?  The excuses you just made for the Clippers are ridiculous.

regular season fools gold

And now suddenly The clippers have become a team bested with Hof'ers in the matter of one season.... just last season i remember people arguing that David Lee was better than Blake Griffin and having a discussion, Deandre Jordan was barely playing 4th quarters last year and now he's Bill Russell on the block...

His second best players are respectively 25 & 24 years old and are JUST filling out their potential, how exactly was this team the favorite over teams that have two players in the top 10 and a core that is already playoff vets & a team that was a rebound away from winning the championship?

and once again i ask if you have a capable team & are supposed to be the "best" how do people claim Lebron was the best since 08-09 when he went to the most important games of his life and had a nervous ****** brakedown?

I didn't hear anyone wanting to revoke his MVP for putting up 17 a game on 45% shooting? where was this demand that he can't be the best in the game then.... i NEED answers
Too much hyperbole and nonsense in this post. Take it somewhere else.
Fixed.

Why is it that Tony Parker never gets mentioned as the best PG in the league?

How old are Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, and Serge Ibaka? No excuse.

OK, but lets just say the Clippers don't choke away game 5 (with the help of the refs) and win the series. Would everyone be saying that KD and Westbrook are overrated? Somehow, I don't think so. The Clippers got beat by a better team. Why does that mean CP has to take the blame for it and get called overrated? If you don't like the guy, you don't like the guy, that's fine. But all this, "he gets a pass" stuff is just silly to me.

Because they ended up choking in the playoffs?

Sorry but this Clippers team is loaded.  Anyone who says otherwise is simply making excuses for the team not performing to the level it could/should.

Yea Blake might be a top 5 PG but does that mean his game has reached his prime?

And the Spurs have the deepest bench

Did you pick the Clippers to win it all???

Im pretty sure he does. If Im not mistaken Chuck has been calling him the best PG for the past 2 seasons.

Personally, until Tony Parker becomes better on defense, Im not buying TP as the best PG.

nah ive BEEN saying that exact statement ever since cp got there, nothing new ...they couldve gotten to the wcf but WOULDVE been handled by SA in 4

So we still acting like the Clippers weren't built this season to win RIGHT NOW? Anything less than a WCF appearance has to be considered a failure.

its that warriors management mentality.  they view coming up short against a better team as a failure in order to do/voice how they really feel

Who cares if Blake has reached his prime yet?  He is still a damn good player and can dominate a game on any given night.  Can players not win unless they are in their primes?

Ok fine.  2nd deepest bench.  Better?  It doesn't change anything though.

No I didnt.....because I knew they would choke.

true

but i couldve sworn i saw doc saying they just wanted to get 2 the 2nd & everything past that was cake(ovb not his exact statement)

Pooh dominated who exactly? George ****** Hill? Jeff Teague? played the celtics close and got sent home in the first, Met up with Miami & got humbled?

Russ Dismantled them or was KD & Harden also not their destroying competition?

Rondo Didn't benefit from having 3 players who were top 5 at their positions?

None of those guys we are discussing are even the #1 factor that teams are trying to stop. This was his first year in the playoffs HEALTHY with a good team around him and we are ready to say he's overated because he played against a better team in the playoffs?

But when i bring up that Lebron finals in 2011 when he had superior EVERYTHING on the floor and was outplayed by Jason Terry people make the claim that it was only one series & that shouldn't change my perception of him?

Are you serious with this my G? :lol :rollin

Alright... So that Bulls team that lost to Mia... Besides Pooh who was averaging 25 & 8 the next offensive threat... Luol Deng who averaged 17 and Carlos Boozer who averaged 13... Yet you're telling me that he wasn't the #1 factor that Indy, AtL & MIA were trying to stop... You're saying that the defense ultimate focus wasn't stopping Pooh? :lol He wasn't getting doubled in both the Indy and ATL series... ALL SERIES? There weren't 3 people meeting him at the basket damn near every drive? Mia didn't have to switch LeBron on to him because he was killing Rio, Norris and Wade? What? :lol

Am I confused about Russ's performances vs LAL, SAS, and MIA... Did Russ not go for 40 plus when KD was casper the friendly ghost in the finals?!?!?! Was he not the reason they were even close in those games? Was he not dominating EVERY PG he faced during that run? Are you serious?

Rondo wasn't carrying that squad the last year they were together? Was he not top 3 in scoring and rebounding for them during the playoffs while leading them in assist?

Tony hasn't been the focal point for defenses for the past 3 seasons? He wasn't what drove SAS to the finals and wouldn't have been the finals MVP had MIA not been given the grace of god in game 6?

Bro you're going WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of your way to defend chris to the point where you're appearing to lack basketball acumen and historical contex. You Should Stop. :{

So now the Clippers aren't deep in talent, and don't have one of the best benches in the league.

Ight.

Yea they have a good team, nothing about that team is GREAT or make them seem like favorites.

KD Russ> Blake & CP
Ibaka> Deandre
Barnes & Reddick> sefolasha & Perkins

as far as bench

Collison, Jackson, Adams, Butler>>>>>>>> Crawford, Collison & corpses

So, you're saying, on paper, they're clearly better than OKC and the Spurs? Because that's the only conclusion you can reach from what you're saying. Could they have gotten further? Yeah, clearly. Did they choke because they lost to a team that features the MVP and a lot of other talented guys? I don't think so.

Yes. WB particularly even gets criticized in wins so I don't get what you're getting at. 3rd WCF in 4 years is pretty significant in terms of a resume though. I mean Cliff is older and still yet to surpass the 2nd and obviously people are growing tired of his antics. The mud slinging is warranted. Try to undersell it now after the fact if you want, but this team was a championship contender and favorite coming in.

I'm gonna say this 1 last time. Tony Parker is the BEST PG in the NBA. He's the best player on his team and LEADS THEM to the conference Finals and Finals like clockwork. Tim hasn't been the best player on SA in a few years now. He still puts up numbers and plays at a All Star level with 3 RINGS and a Finals MVP. Blake Griffin had a better year then any Spurs player so STOP with the weak team argument. He also had Doc the coach he wanted. To say Paul's better at this point shows just a lack of basketball iq and objectivity.

Spurs in 6
Heat in 6

Spurs in 7 over Heat

Duncan retires with 5 and as the greatest PF of all time.

You are missing the point.  The argument is whether or not the Clippers are a championship quality team or not.  They are.  Just because there are a small handful of teams that are as good as them or better than them does not change that.

Clippers were the deepest team top to bottom this year. Not many teams have a backup PG who could be a starter on another team or a 2 time 6th man of the year and Danny ******* Granger

I will say tho that the Big Baby signing was a mistake. Dude is terrible.

Choke or not me and you both still ain't pick em to win :lol

Your points about the team is true but trust me this team would be so much better with another wing player, not Barnes.
