shaq was the better player that year but iverson did his thing and was a major reason for the 6ers making the finals and winning game one

Quite simply, if you average 31 a game and lead your team to the best record in the conference, there is no way that can be "The most fraudulent MVP in league history." By any measure, Allen was deserving of the MVP that year. Just because Shaq was deserving of it, doesn't mean that A.I. wasn't.

easy by shooting 39% from the feild while the other guy had the best season by a center since wilt chamberlain.

McCartney has never said his Wings work is better than his Beatles work though

Don't think you get it. No matter how you slice it, if you average 31 a game on the best team in the conference, that is 100% worthy of MVP. Every single time :lol

yeah and ai took a lot of ****** ones.

Shaq had the BEST SEASON since wilt,

why am i arguing this the game is on later.

Do you know how hard it is to average 31 a game???? Even with horrible shooting percentages and getting those fga's up, to get to over 31 PPG is incredibly hard. To do that, and get your team the best record in the conference, is without a doubt MVP worthy.

Since shaq had another 25+ ppg scorer on his team its easier to say ai was "more valuable" to his team which the mvp award is for

yeah i don't think you get it, they got to the finals because of defense and a historically weak east.

you can't just ignore context becuase it doesn't fit your narrative.

It's not even easy to average 10PPG in the NBA

SIdenote: A.I.'s best season individually was 05-06, not 2000-2001

33, 3, & 7 on 45% from the field. :x

I'm not ignoring it, you're just diminishing Allen's accomplishments that year because of his shooting percentages. I wasn't even addressing why they got to the finals. The MVP is a regular season award. You said he didn't deserve it. That's flat out false. As I stated, 31 a game on the best team in the conference is MVP worthy. Every single time. Historically weak eastern conference or not.

See that's just wrong :lol again I ask you how can someone average 31 a game with an identical record as shaq, NOT BE WORTHY OF THE MVP :rollin

historically weak EC or not, when you do that you are more than worthy of the MVP. Should shaq have gotten it? Maybe. Over A.I.? That's for sure debatable. His team came four wins short of 60. Like I said, Shaq was deserving, but that doesn't mean A.I. wasn't.

Yep and AI led the NBA in steals and minutes

I don't remember his conference being historically bad that year either, every playoff team had a winning record in 2001
