$ Memphis was involved in a multi-team transactioninvolving Utah, Miami, Phoenix and another team that would have required themto ship out a 2010 first-round pick and landed them Dorell Wright. Miami would have receivedAmare Stoudemire. Phoenixblew up the deal by insisting that one of the trade partners take on LeandrosBarbosa. Ka-boom.

$ Miami pulled out of a deal it agreed to do with Memphisthree weeks ago: Wright for a 2010 first-round pick.

$ Griz owner Michael Heisley had to be talked out ofacquiring Chicagopoint guard Kirk Hinrich and his enormous contract.

$ Memphis tried to send the lesser of its Denver/ Los Angeles 2010first-round picks to Cleveland but a technicality blocked the deal atthe deadline.
So, Memphis had a chance to get Hinrich and someone talked Heisley out of it?

I like Hinrich and he would have been a good fit, but he's not worth that type of money on this team. Would have hurt them if they truly plan on re-signing Rudy too.

If it didn't cost them much to bring him in, I think he would've been a good fit. Vet, defense, shooter and not passive. His contract is pretty bad though. I think Heisley is waiting til he get Rudy signed long-term before he takes on any other contracts. Memphis can give Brewer the QO or just re-sign him for a probably a cheap price.

Sam Young will be the same age as Brewer in June.

still the most UN-knowledgeable Heat fan on this board. we are in position to sign Boozer or Amare this summer without giving up

any players. Riley was willing to grab them now without giving up Beasley period. Since we would have to give up Beasley he decided to wait,

remember they both have houses in Miami and want to play here. And thats IF we dont get Bosh who has the same agent as wade. As for Wade,

we just have to show something this season as well as the extra $30 mill we have to offer over anyone else.

Granted, Martin has missed a lot of games, but it's not so much chronic injuries that have plagued him. Like knee issues, back issues, etc. So in that regard, hopefully dude can play more than 75% of the season, something he hasn't been able to do in awhile.

^^^^^^hahaha....

Morey stay pullin tricks out his hat...

All hail Morey.

I wondered what the deal was gonna be?

But anyways we did this trade for next season when Yao comes back.

Morey probably hit up Kerr saying, hey how about Jefferies, and Brian cook for stat? you get an expiring, and a defensive specialist so you dont have o let him walk for nothing.

kerr probably said "im stupid, but i aint that stupid" and slamed the phone.

I don't think Booz does either. But, considering he's expiring, he'll help short term and they could let him walk or use him in a sign and trade.
