Anybody here gonna watch the Carl Froch Jermain Taylor fight this upcoming weekend?.

Im not sure if its PPV in the states shouldnt be really as Froch is unknown over there and Jermains had his day really.

Im frustrated and annoyed that it isnt being shown here in the UK Froch is a genuine talent and exciting to watch although hes a cocky idiot sometimes n carryshis left way to low he has a very good chance of looking very good against Taylor and getting a legit shot at a belt.

As for Ricky and Manny I still dont see Ricky winning he looks great and has improved speed from the Floyd like pad work and defensive reflexes but theres noway he doesnt take alot of punishment from the Pacman I only see one outcome and maybe another trip to the plastic surgeon for Ricky.

Rarely do I bet against Ricky but after the Oscar performance from Manny i see more of the same for this fight to much speed accuracy n domination sorry Ricky.

Peace
Scottie

SMH, I missed the fight last night. I read that Martinez was waving the Filipino flag after....whats up with that?

Dako, your girl watches boxing?! Ive been trying to get my girl to watch for hella long...........

Im most def. going to catch Tarlor/Froch.

Just watched the fight...Donaire controlled that entire match. I dont agree with the stoppage though. Martinez did not look to be in danger.

I hear JMM vs. Maywaether is going down July 18. Can someone confirm this? How do you guys feel about this? JMM is a warrior and his fights with Manny wereclose, and most importantly, entertaining. But how do you think he'll do against Mayweather, the former #1 P4P boxer if the fight goes down. I mean JMM islike 36 right. Now I know anything can happen in the ring, but what do you think? For sure the fans will be all over this.

Can't wait till Saturday

...
That was a brutal KO by Villoria.

I hope he don't try to pull this in the fight though.

I hope this fight does go down... Floyd is too much for JMM though.

IMO I dont think anyone under 147 can compete with floyd at all...But hey thats just me

Missed all the fights this weekend gotta catch up on it this week...can't wait for Froch and JT I think Froch might pull it out.

The negotiations for Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Juan Manuel Marquez are still ongoing, and the issue of weight, not money, continues to be the biggest issue. Thedate of July 18 is reserved on HBO pay-per-view, and I'm sure a Las Vegas venue is already locked in. Mayweather wants the fight to be closer to 147 andMarquez, who is currently the WBA/WBO champion at 135-pounds, wants the fight closer to 140.

Speaking with BoxingScene.com's Luis Sandoval, Marquez made it clear that he was going for Mayweather because Manny Pacquiao was not interested in a thirdmeeting, at least not at this time. "Well like always, Pacquiao doesn't want the third fight. I'll say it to him publicly and we'll see ifMayweather can become my next opponent," Marquez said.

Marquez told BoxingScene that he was willing to go up as high as 143/144 to make the fight. His trainer/manager Nacho Beristain has said that 143 is theirtarget catch-weight for Mayweather. "Well 147 is too much weight for me but we are trying to make the fight. If the fight happens we want to try and makeit at a lower weight. He wants to fight, we want to fight, so we'll try to make it happen at 143 or 144 pounds," Marquez said.

There are unconfirmed reports that Mayweather might be willing to give up a few pounds and head down to a catch-weight of 145. If that is the case, it's abit silly that "two-pounds" are holding up what may be one of more anticipated events of the boxing year. Mayweather has been away from the ringsince December 2007, when he knocked out Ricky Hatton. The time away has not made him any less popular.
....
There have been talks about a Floyd vs JMM fight but issues over the weight, but either way if the fight is a catch weight of 143 or 144 its not like Floydwill stay at that weight he will rehydrate and go up to around 150 and Floyd will beat JMM.

again im say dont call out anyone then start *****ing about what weight to fight at. wasnt JMM 147 on fight day for his last fight?

Kirkland arrested in hometown
By Dan Rafael
ESPN.com

Junior middleweight contender James Kirkland, who is scheduled to fight Michael Walker in a 10-round bout May 2 on the Ricky Hatton-Manny Pacquiao HBO PPV card undercard in Las Vegas, was arrested on a weapons charge Sunday.

He was still in custody Monday afternoon.

Kirkland, 25, who is on probation for a 2003 armed robbery that cost him 2½ years of his career, was arrested during a traffic stop in his hometown of Austin, Texas, and booked Sunday afternoon. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Travis County Sherriff's Department Web site.

Whether Kirkland (25-0, 22 KOs) will be available to fight May 2 is unclear.

"It appears that James is the victim of circumstance and we're waiting for the facts to come in before we make any comment," Cameron Dunkin, Kirkland's co-manager, told ESPN.com.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who signed Kirkland in October and promoted his last two bouts, both of which were on HBO, has talked with Kirkland's attorney and co-manager Michael Miller and had no comment.

"I don't really know anything yet, so I really can't comment, but I'm looking into it," Schaefer said.

Kirkland has emerged as one of the most fearsome punchers in boxing and is on the fast track. After stopping Joel "Love Child" Julio in six rounds on March 7, he was quickly lined up for the May 2 fight which was to be followed with another HBO appearance in August. Schaefer has been trying to put together a title challenge for him against either Sergei Dzindziruk or Daniel Santos.

^^^SMH. He violated his probation. No way around it...he's going to jail. I hope for a miracle. And that he will still be able to fight May 2nd.

i don't know about bring his wife and kids to watch daddy fight... JuanMa of all people

I think Gerry will make JMM work for this victory, he's a real solid boxer and JMM fought 3 charging opponents last year and cleared them all out in thefirst round.
