The smell and habit is disgusting IMO but he's in the privacy of his home, so he can do as he pleases. However, that shouldn't impede on your life. Knock on his door and confront him about it. Ask him to smoke in a different part of the house or close the window when he does. If he doesn't comply and continues to do so, do what you have to do.
