The thing I really like about her too is that she doesn't need me.   She has her own career, crib, car, etc. She is smart and can carry a conversation. She isn't a pushover and I don't make her do anything. She just does it because she wants to. It's not like I am holding her down and giving her bread or taking her on shopping sprees. She could leave me right now and her life will be just fine. Truthfully, it's not a bad thing in my view that less people are getting married. Anytime the success rate of a voluntary lifetime commitment is about 50%, something is askew. People don't take it seriously enough anyway.

I think it has a lot to do with the emphasis on sex in society nowadays. Attitudes and practices are looser than ever on both sides, and honestly who's going to buy the cow when the milk runs through the streets.

That concept has also influenced how people select their life partners. If the number one factor in choosing a woman to eventually die with is her mass, then the chances of you staying together are going to sag and crumble with it. Looks certainly deserve rating, but are overrated in the modern formula due to it being all that matters in the media. People don't even know each other when they get married, and all of a sudden they have to spend large chunks of time around some chick they found out they didn't like after they voided the damn warranty by marrying her.

It's true that men aren't allowed to be men any more...that's to be expected when people have spent the last 50ish years telling women they can be men while enjoying all the bubble benefits of the traditional woman. Oh, and don't dare to treat a woMan like the guy she's imitating. Then you're wrong.

Hell, people are barely allowed to have opinions without getting hit with a bigot/hater/caveman charge, so it's being drilled into people from a young age that standing for something and speaking up on how you feel (like a man) is wrong and bad. What you expect?

The "broken families/dependent citizens" argument holds solid weight too. Everything in society nowadays encourages extremist individuality at the expense of any sort of team concept, and what else is a marriage but a team? What do they say about a house divided again?

Also, we live in an increasingly disposable world. "On to the Next One" might as well be our national anthem, pretty much anything we use is designed to be used and thrown away. When that attitude becomes a basic part of the way the collective consciousness works, that definitely includes people and relationships.

All that is before we address the actual contention set forth in the article: marriage ceasing to be advantageous to the men who enter them. It's true, any man who enters a marriage in the modern day takes a risk on having his kids taken from him by the world's greatest tag-team, women and the American courts system and still having to pay an arbitrary amount toward raising them while possibly enduring the indignity of alimony, or "***** severance", as it should be called. From a pure business perspective (the predominant mindset encouraged in a capitalistic society), it's just not a good investment.

Don't even get me started on the pregnancy/DNA thing...that's a ******* joke how lopsided that is. I wouldn't exactly jump to to do it on purpose either.

Damn, I have so much more I want to say on the topic...but I'm in the business of selling opinions, so I can't give them all out for free.

Fact is, there really is no incentive to "grow up", as the article puts it. I'm good at about 21 internal years old for the foreseeable future.

*For the record, I do plan on getting married if that matters. You can be damn sure I'm protecting myself and doing it exactly once because I'm picking the right one the first time if it takes until I'm 40+ (and by then I'll just go to some other country and buy a wife...I'll tell her to jump and she'll ask how high and come down with a sandwich).

Yeah man. Once the birth certificate is signed in certain jurisdictions (or even if you just support the child voluntarily for long enough, in some cases), an order for child support can't be overturned once rendered even if it's later found out that he's not actually the father. That's why I recommend DNA tests for EVERYBODY.

Never heard a guy say he needs a woman like Michelle Obama, quite the contrary super successful/overachieving women often intimidate men and make them uncomfortable. How often is a man called a golddigger?

I honestly don't care if my woman makes only 35k a year or didn't finish college as long as she's legitimately a good person and rides for me. Rarely would a woman overlook a man's education level or income. Also in regards to men wanting good looking women, decent looking women are much more common than the ideal man women are targeting. Guys just post comments for comedy and aren't really requiring women to look like video models to date them. At the mall there may be dozens if not hundreds of good looking women, but how many men have six figure jobs/master's degrees/own property?

Seriously, you are the rare man. Raising a child alone is a task I can't even fathom, and I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only one who felt this way. A lot of people think they want kids, but you don't get to put them away when they're not fun/convenient any more (more a general statement than directed at you specifically).

My mistake, but I still wouldn't be surprised if your sentiments were sparingly shared. It could be biased by my belief that a partner is (ideally) with you for life while your child will one day want to be with someone else, but in any event it's good to see a man who actively wants to put his efforts into raising an adult.

My boy knocked up a jump off, so she put him on papers. He was cool with that until the judge told him that he has an additional credit that he has to pay his baby moms for her other child which isn't his and the judge knows it.

She doesn't have her other BD on papers, so he has to pay a lil extra for that one too even tho its not his.

Got to stop you on this. No offense at all by this, but how many "vixen type chicks" have you talked to? I'm not even saying that i've talked to a plethora or anything like that, but its the total opposite of what you said.

IMO, men (excluding the pro ballers, entertainers, etc. obviously) are intimidated by these "vixen type chicks" and their beauty, thus this is why they use the excuse of them being stuck up, have too many dudes on them, or "gassed up airheads" like you said. When in reality, most of these females who are overly attractive are just regular women. Regular women have their ideas for who they want in a man, so do these "vixen type chicks." Most of the vixen type chicks you see are regular, with regular personalities which is completely overshawdowed by their instagram likes. (Prime example, if a regular girl takes a picture of herself in a nice outfit, its just that. If a very attractive girl does it, then men say she's trying to show off, get attention, get poppin' on the gram, etc.)

The point is, its this attitude towards these vixen like women that is messing up the female/male dynamic. Inadvertently, by using the reasoning you used as the reason why you don't approach those type of women, you are putting that woman on a pedastal, when she doesn't deserve to be. All she is is a regular woman who happens to be attractive, that's it.
