They couldn't get the original sample cleared, not a fan of the remake of the sample, it loses some of the elements the original unmixed version had.

Always cut it off before Cyhi
so appalled is a dope song.. i loved it when i first heard it.. but this song never got played on the radio.. never heard it in the club.. never on the radio.. it's not a top 10 song at all..
One of the best rap posse songs in the last 15 years. Classic song.
Probably the last good song Jay will ever be on. Kanye hasn't been the same since.
Classic song IMO. All 3 verse were great but King Push :x :x
Song is amazing.
don't like to rank songs.
Have a different top 100 everyday

Imagine if everyone on this was on devil in a new dress
Simply put, this verse was not supposed to happen. This came about when Kanye fell asleep after Pusha Tfinished his verse. Cyhi was only supposed to do his short hook, but recorded a full 16 bars. As Cyhi stateshere:
The verse has been praised for Cyhi’s effective use of punchlines and wordplay. It looks like he made the correct choice in sneaking his verse in.“I wasn’t supposed to be on ‘So Appalled’. People don’t know that. I kinda cheated. [Kanye] said, ‘Can you think of something to write on the hook?’ I peeped he was kinda sleepy at the time. So he went to sleep, went to the room or something. I stayed in the studio and I said I’m not gonna just do no hook. I’m gonna do my verse.”
I did a verse and didn’t tell him the verse was on there and I hid it. He was playing the album for some very important musicians and he played the song. He don’t know my verse is gonna come on and everybody in the room goes bananas. He said, ‘I gotta keep it.’”
