Anyone know if Google is still replacing N5s with cracked screens?

I would like to know this as well. Also what do you need to show or give google if you ask for a repair?

I just did the replacement for my coworker that I sold my phone too... It was simple, they just asked for your personal info for which you used when you purchased the N5... They also asked for the IMEI

Once that's done, they send you an email with a link to "purchase" a new N5... A hold is placed on the card used until they get your old phone...Once you get it(Next Day Air) you send back your old phone...

So it looks like google might continue to sell the nexus 5, they updated the page to lollipop, and added it to the nexus family homepage.

Oh OK. I doubt we will see one for a while, but it would be cool, especiallu if it basically a stock moto x.

No way this phone flops. It'll be the most widely available Nexus to date. Couple that with the best user experience and specs and you have a winner. No one in their right mind would choose a skinned version of Android over Vanilla.

I beg to differ, Vanilla android is decent and all but a lot of people enjoy some of the features of touchwiz and sense and whatever is on my LG G3. I mean double tap to wake up screen is a feature I want on every phone now

I have titanium backup. It's ont the best solution though. I remember when 4.4 broke it and it took forever for everyone to figure out how to use it again.

This isn't going to work. When you restore, everything restores with your nandroid. You'll go back to the last OS you backed up.

Anyway, thanks everyone for contributing to the original question

I already answered this but there are plenty of apps and such tahtvwill out everything back the way it was before and your apps settings and data...

so if I wanted a new os, I can do a full wipe and put new os o. my device then use backup tonoit everything back the way it was before..
gha! i gotta do all this now to get lollipop on my rooted g3? now i really regret rooting

No. All you have to do is accept the ota update. At worst if you have to unroot you can just click the unroot button on stump.

Also chill with bashing root. It's literally the best part of Android :lol

Root may not seems big to some but to those who like putting on custom roms it's what makes it all possible. Also if you are rooted and don't have adaway then you are doing it wrong.

Google could've easily got $450 out of me with a updated N5 with a 3,000mah battery and a snapdragon 801

I remember the times we didn't need root to use adaway :{

Now it's one of the main things I root for.

Instead of Titanium Backup, you can also use ES File Explorer to backup your apps and the data within them. You need to be rooted of course. Without root, you can just backup the apps you currently have.

Pulled the trigger on the Note 4 preorder at Best Buy. They are running a special where if you pre order the Note before friday they will give you a $200 Best Buy gift card for the trade in of ANY smart phone. Literally any, even an old pre-touchscreen blackberry. :hat

Hopefully they let me use that $200 towards the cost of the $299 upgrade.  Then i can sell my Note 3 and profit
o word?

Going today with my chick so we can both come up then. 400 n store credit?!? Shiiiiiiit. Bout to cop the N4 after all. Contract free

Yep just call and make sure the specific Best Buy location near you is doing the promo. And the phone has to be working and no cracks in the screen

Supposedly it's only phones bought from Google Play. Is that where you bought yours? If not I'm bout to send mine in ASAP

I don't think the best buy credit can be applied towards no contract prices, can it?

Just came back from Best Buy and they said I don't turn in the old phone and get the $200 gift card until my Note 4 comes in and that I will be able to apply that gift card towards the purchase of the phone.

Definitely trading in my S5 for the Note 4 at T-Mo

Anyone familiar with the jump program?
