Don't know if it's the easiest but I assume this is the safest way. I was going to say try Universal Adroot but I don't think it would work with the Evo.

frost rom 3.1 getting pretty good battery life. This is with 10% battery life left.

 Its nice not having to plug the phone in every so often.
Still pretty new to this stuff.
