If you put high rises far from public transportation, people have to depend on cars which creates traffic and congestion. Also if you live in a high rise near a station, there’s incentive to live there cause the city is accessible anywhere on the line. I’d be interested to see the video you speak of though, to learn about any arguments against it.
Exactly. Some people want to mix some people want to stay together. Both should be able to do whatever. itll work itself out like a natural selection process. But the part of racism and segregation that gave an advantage to certain people as far as job hiring, resource availabilit, and just control over how people eat and the money is allocated gotta stop.
Not that I disagree, but the fundation of nymbyism is in the pejorative understanding of affordable housing.

Almost all housing in Toronto has become unaffordable. Then again everyone wants single detatched homes. For example you probably need a household income of 200k and help from you parents who take home equity line of credits in order to afford the down payment. And that’s for like a 1mil townhouse.
The thing about folks complaining about the end of segregation is that they tend to want people to respect their rights without wanting to extend the same respect to people they have biases against.
