If you put high rises far from public transportation, people have to depend on cars which creates traffic and congestion. Also if you live in a high rise near a station, there’s incentive to live there cause the city is accessible anywhere on the line. I’d be interested to see the video you speak of though, to learn about any arguments against it.I remember watching a video about single family housing near subways/metros doesn’t really make a lot sense and kind of agree. But there’s been a shift here in the DMV area, lots of multi family development near metro stations.
