Actually Im about to hit you with vocal pedagogy(i think i used that right). Mariah Carey has a 6 octave voice, which is the equivalent of having a 52 inch vertical. Everyone aint gonna be able to do that no matter how much they work out. So Mariah is/was on God Mode. On the other hand someone like Whitney Houston had a 5 octave. Great. Then you have the Jennifer Hudsons, Beyoncés, Elton Johns, RiRi and Aaliyahs at 3. So yea of course she isnt the strongest against Tina Turners and Michael Jacksons but she was on the same level as other people we wouldn’t say that about. Now as far was we LIKE, that aint got nothing to do with the price of tea in China. Anita Baker killing all them let me tell it.
TL;DR:She aint no Mariah Carey but thats why Mariah Carey is Mariah Carey.

Ms. Riperton in my opinion doesn’t get the respect she Damn well deserves. To me she was criminally under appreciated. Another one I felt didn’t get the respect and adulation that she deserves is Chantè Moore.

Man if he Whitney Houston sings like she does on record in shower, I am telling to "shut up".
She died b4 she could put a great album to reference. Some great singles though.
