There was a poll on capcom's site and gambit, venom, cyclops, megaman etc had the most votes for characters most people wanted in this game. Knowing Capcom thats money from DLC sorted for the next year.

If you scrolled all the way down to the OP post, you'd see that all 12 characters were already revealed.
