In an ideal world, I could agree with this. But when the odds are stacked up against MANY parents in our community it isn't that black and white. Some parents were born into situations where they honestly had little to no chance of rising out from. As I said before, it is a highly complicated situation man.

Oh I agree there are countless factors that could lead someone to violent crime, and even good parenting in a stable environment doesn't necessarily prevent it.
It's unfortunately not that unusual for kids in privileged situations to still get involved in serious crimes, despite proper parenting.

What kind of statement is this?? Are you black?? It’s not about Nordstrom or any big retail store for that matter. It’s about the criminal act itself and potentially picking up a criminal charge for a worthless piece of merchandise. As I have said on here many times before…….black people are VOLUNTARILY signing up for jail. Why are so many black folks willing to thrown their lives away for a criminal charge or charges.

Also, if these juveniles would do this to a “big retail store” what would stop them from doing this to a small local business that isn’t heavily insured……or even worse robbing somebody directly or burglarizing someone’s home?? Either way events like this cause businesses to close, thus creating certain desserts. Be they retail, food or clothing. Prime example is a situation that’s currently taking place in SE DC right now with the only grocery store in Ward 8…..the Giant grocery store on Alabama Avenue. The last thing we need is someone saying “good” whenever a black person commits a crime. That’s as counterproductive as it gets.

Yeah, that would be horrible if they do close it down if that is the only full fledge grocery store on the east of the river in ward 8. They were talking about closing the one in Oxon Hill in Eastover Shopping center for the same exact reason. I grew up on that side of town, which is right on the DC/MD line.
