Those who live a christian life, how do you feel?

thanks for posting this...i just felt EXACTLY how you were feeling yesterday. i'm gonna take a first step by start going to church again and prayers. goodluck to you.

modern day Christianity is an adaptation of early African Christianity ... It's been proven time and time again... Not to say that it's wrong...It's just a little misinterpretated... Every single aspect was taken from the Nile valley... The so called roman Catholics along with michealangelo andcosantine took the images, scriptures and rituals from the tombs of Africa... All they did was Europeanized the whole religion and made it seem as if they werethe most holy when all they did was plagurize... Where are all the African Christians???? In africa keeping it exactly same as it was thousands of yrs b4 theEuropean jesus....

Is it hard? Really?

I haven't noticed...

Most Christians that I've met are fine with just a few hail mary's and our fathers as "repentance" for their sins. Heck most of them haven't read a verse from the Bible and believe that simply believing Christ as the lamb of God is enough to be forgiven for all sins both past present and future.

Its a false sense of security, it takes more than just that to save you Christian or not.....

You want real advice? Follow that gut feeling, its called your conscience, if you're going against it you're doing it wrong....You know how to be a good man...
you know when there's a thread and some christian dude comes in posting a bunch of religious views and pisses everyone off? right now sneaker heathen is that dude. only the tables are turned. the op was obviously asking CHRISTIANS for A CHRISTIAN'S point of view. your religious or anti christian arguments are not even close to answering what the thread is asking. nowadays it seems that some atheists, agnostics, and other non christians do way more preaching and argument starting than christians ever did. op, i hope you find what you need.

So now I'm anti christian?

Okay.

This is NT not ChristiansforChristians.org....

I'm going to keep it 100 till then...
the thread was directed to christians. you chose to chime in with a view point that was not asked for. its like going to the cdp 11 12 thread and talking about fushions. just looking for an argument. call it what you want. if that's keepin it 100, then more power to you.

Not looking for an argument, but OP opened a can of worms....

As a Muslim, (religious views aside) I believe anyone whom is a GOOD person. A SELFLESS person, a person whom has done good throughout his life, God fearing or not I cannot believe he is Hell bound....

I SIMPLY CAN'T...

With that said, It boggles my mind that so many Christians can basically straight up tell me that I'm hellbound because I don't believe Christ is the lamb of God.....
nothing wrong with that. if you started a thread asking for a muslim point of view, i would be wrong to come in pushing how i dont believe that muhammed was anything special. just saying this didnt seem like the topic to come in and stir up some kind of uneeded argument. the op was asking for some help with something that is obviously important to him. and he wanted help from someone who's been in his shoes. if you're not that person then you're just a trouble maker. i wont respond anymore.

Lol so I'm a trouble maker because OP made a highly controversial topic in a diverse forum that is sure to warrant some debate and off topic discussions?

This is NT, full of people of all different religious backgrounds, you're looking for 2 cents but you're going to end with change for a hundred.

If I made a thread directed at other Muslims I'd probably take it to another forum, or I'd make peace with the fact that people whom aren't Muslim are going to find some of the things said in this thread to touch a nerve.

Chip on your shoulder much? He didn't ask for your point of view. Just because a topic is made does not mean you should chime in the your 02. cents whenthey weren't asked for. You're very annoying and are constantly trolling. I can tell you hate christianity, and I didn't surprise me sinceyou're Muslim. He clearly stated "CHRISTIANS" and unless your practicing Christianity on the DL then you shouldn't have come in here tryingto start an argument. Go troll somewhere else.

Every human, christian or not, make mistakes. We all make bad decisions. We all go through the emotions. Only thing that's different is your beliefs.

I'm not gonna lie op it's rough sometimes man. My auntie always tells me it's not going to be a bed of roses all the time. Just don't allowsatan to shake your faith. And as for you feeling like your distant from God just remember the story of the prodigal son. You can always come back to God justas the prodigal son went back to his father. Stay blessed homes. Peace.

You're definitely right. I don't know about the Hail Mary part
laugh.gif
but I understand what you're saying. There are a large number of "Christians" who think their duties are finished and that finally acceptingChrist is the end of the road and that all will be well. It's quite the opposite, really. If anything, the road gets harder and harder. I can't judgethe christians you know in your life, but going to church on Sunday with family doesn't make a christian. Being saved is the most important part of theWalk, and many don't take it seriously. I pray for them just like I pray for non-believers.

I've been saved since I was a little boy.

Care to explain that experience? Just wondering. I wasn't saved until the age of 17.

Posts about religon should be banned and im Christian btw

I disagree. It's the duty of a Christian to let others know about Christ...I don't see other options for this on NT.
The who's in and out of hell question is probably the touchiest subject regarding Christianity. I firmly believe that anyone who has lived a righteouslife will not burn in eternal flame, regardless of religious beliefs. My God is not a cruel individual...he will not inexplicably punish those who do good.Christianity is not about that. There are no teachings about "this side vs. that side", but we are taught that there ARE two sides, and that ourprimary duty is to spread God's word and let people know that hell is real. There's Christianity the religion (which explains the extremists and thoseracist white-power churches down south), and there's Christianity the relationship with God. Two completely different things. I guess i'm labeled aChristian, but in no way do I share the same God as the extremists.

what branch of christianity are you? im roman catholic. im proud of it too.

its kinda hard in my situation though. check the sig and avy. im a metalhead. there are faaaaar to many 'anti-christ' bands and followers out there. idont care too much for atheists and satanists, i dont mind them as long as they dont badger me with their beliefs. however, its offending when you hear aboutbands that have names like 'rotting christ' and others who rip bibles in half at concerts. i cant stand it.

why can't folks have some maturity and respect what other folks believe?

i believed in christianity when i was younger (because i grew up in a christian school), but as ive gotten older i feel like i should see what else is outthere.

its tough having faith in something that you may never knew existed, but i know that when you receive "blessings" (whether it was a coincidence ornot), you feel a sense of assurance.

And I agree with you. The road only starts after you accept christ. Christians are called to teach the gospel and bring others in the church by living aspiritual life. We all do make mistakes and no one is perfect, but it doesn't mean we can't strive for perfection.

Do you think going on NT is inherently sinful? Not to say I'm holier than thou, I def. don't feel that way, but this site has so much"stuff" that can shake anyone's faith. What do you think.

Very true. I just feel that soon God will stop giving me chances.

I'm baptist btw.

Let me answer your loaded question with a loaded answer.

I believe Islam is about submission to God, whereas Christianity revolves around the concept of developing a relationship with God. In my mind I would be morein tune with someone I have a relationship with rather than submit to- so to answer your question, Yes.

Are you Egyptian btw? I am, I didnt know there were many of us on NT.

I went to church today.
Sat there for half an hour.
Then bounced.
CHURCH = WIGGITY WACK

To the OP, keep ya head up..There is not a Christian out there that hasnt felt the way you do..I've been in your shoes before, and am kinda feeling the wayyou are too, but I know that I believe Christ died for my sins and as long as I keep God in my heart I never truly "feel" alone..You've alreadymade the first step in helping yourself by admitting your feelings..I would suggest you get back in church, talk to your pastor/priest, parents or anybody elsethat can give you some guidance..Keep praying and ask God to show you the path that He has chosen for you and just give it some time and let Him show you whichway to go..I don't know if this is exactly what your looking for, but I wish you nothing but the best and God Bless You!!

And to SneakerHeathen..I don't understand where you're coming from..You're not a Christian and don't live a Christian lifestyle, so why evenbother posting?..I'm not going to make any comments about your religious choice, because it's your choice and I don't feel it's any Christiansplace to judge you or anyone, but you're a Muslim and Christianity is not your religion of choice so continue to "keep it 100" and go comment ina Muslim thread..God bless you too!!

Daytona why did u feel that is wack. I'm not gonna lie sometimes I used to fall asleep but now I find that taking notes and actually participating helps mepay attention or keep awake

It seems like every time I make a step in progress, I take two steps back. I'm ready to change, but I've said that so many times before.

Those who actually walk the walk, how does it feel?

You are free, GOD is with you at all times with your best interst at heart. It's up to you to accept that.
All Christians have temptations and we all fall short of our commitment daily. Sorry to break it to you but we are all human, no man is perfect. There willnever be a perfect person, or a perfect church because we (the church) are all made up of imperfect people. The good news is that GOD is gracious andmerciful and will forgive you for anything that you've done if you ask for it. You have to be willing to forgive yourself. I was baptized when I was 12and in all those years I've made more mistakes than I can remember. I'm just thankful everytime that GOD is good enough to give me another day to tryand do better.

In Islam, you do build a relationship with Allah
grin.gif

the idea is to submit your will to God, one that can guide you to the right path. A life of good not evil. Give up all the worldly (immoral) stuff and betteryourself.

im sorry sneakerheathen but your first two responses did come of as argumentative

and then you got the clowns who think theyre cool for saying religion is wack

the thread was directed to christians. you chose to chime in with a view point that was not asked for. its like going to the cdp 11 12 thread and talking about fushions. just looking for an argument. call it what you want. if that's keepin it 100, then more power to you.

Just because a topic is made does not mean you should chime in the your 02. cents when they weren't asked for. You're very annoying and are constantly trolling. I can tell you hate christianity, and I didn't surprise me since you're Muslim. He clearly stated "CHRISTIANS" and unless your practicing Christianity on the DL then you shouldn't have come in here trying to start an argument. Go troll somewhere else.

WOW, I'm a troll and I hate Christians? Since I'm a Muslim? I prolly have more PRACTICING Christian friends than you do fam, fall back. Way way way back.

Are you sure I'm the troll here? Because right now you're making yourself out to be a major troll among other things. If you're going to address me please make some valid points instead of these inane ramblings....You're not attacking my character, instead you're degrading your own....

And stop following me from thread to thread with this new found grudge you have, its not flattering, I don't swing that way brother....So relax.

lol following you from thread to thread? You went into the thread I created to do what exactly? Be a troll. I come into this thread and what do I see? You being a troll again trying to spark an argument. Please show me where I'm following you thread to thread.

How was I being a troll in the last thread? By stating how I feel? If anyone says anything that goes against your feelings you have this animosity that justcomes right out. You come into this thread making the same statement I left you with in the last one (chip on your shoulder) so obviously you have some sort ofgrudge that is spilling over from thread to thread.

Then you want to call me a troll? You're sitting there implying that muslims hate christians and I'M the troll?

You're revealing yourself to be highly ignorant sir, I suggest you quit while you're still behind.

This other dude just attacking my character cuz he's mad or something.

At least add something to the topic, have something to say other than calling me a troll...Dudes is real lames, getting all bent out of shape, going thread tothread hanging on my every word.

Is it hard?

So now I'm anti christian?

the OP didnt open a can of worms, you brought the worms in. The OP didnt make the thread ot start controversy. If you knew that this was a controvercial topicand trouble could be started, wouldnt it be common sense to not start trouble? thats like saying "ohman that register is open and not being watched, letme take the money!" even though you know taking the money is wrong. Even though you know trouble could be started from starting an argument... you do itanyway.

Christianity teaches you that you cannot get to the father without believing in his son. so doesnt that make it obvious that you cannot make it to heaven ifyou dont believe in Jesus? i mean... come on... obviously thats what it means. you can be the nicest person on earth, but if you dont believe in the son ofGod, you still wont make it without faith.

and to the OP, it sounds like you need to re-commit your faith. make more of an effort to walk the right path everyday. i knowhow you are feeling too because i find myself in that same place. it isnt easy, but when you have God on your side, nothing is too hard fam. just keep pressingon and when things get too hard or when you feel like you are taking 2 steps back instead of 2 steps forward just call on God. he will help you throughanything man.

stay up.

I think its wack because, it is a whole bunch of symbolic tales that people swear up and down is the truth and take too literally. That is myopinion.

If I didn't make my comments someone else eventually would have, welcome to NT...

Obviously I know what the bible is implying, I just wanted to know how some NTers feel about it. I think its funny you can condemn someone to an eternity ofhellfire even if they we're good people all their life....

So by that logic, a bad person with alot of faith has a better chance of getting to heaven than Ghandi....

Hmmm, if thats not cause for debate I don't know what is.

I know what it is, you don't want me to speak on it because you know damn well something is wrong with your logic....I don't believe a righteous Godwould damn a good person....Muslim or not, Christian or not, Jewish or not....
