I wonder when they will bring in the enchantress..
And then they could bring in the executioner

I just thought the tesseract was a cosmic cube. That's what they started calling it in the cartoon and a select few comics where cosmic cubes have shown up.Tesseract = Space
isn't the tessract Mind? Hence Lokis staff brainwashing people and it being the color Blue?
Nah, the gem in Lokis staff is a completely different gem and is blue, which is mind which makes sense because he used it for mind control.
Though the Tesseract isn't purple like the space gem should be, you can also claim it is of different shade of blue? Also, it make sense to be the space gem as it allows people to travel through space by creating a portal?

Agreed. You could tell the style the scene was filmed was completely different from Thor. The Collector looked like David Bowie. The entire mid-credit scene looked like a low-budget sci-fi flick. I really, really hope that GotG doesn't look like that. I was not impressed with how that props in that scene looked very low budget. It seemed like an add-on that didn't fit because it was added by Marvel and was not directed by Alan Taylor and he wasn't very happy about it, I'd be pissed too if they added crap to a work I was proud of just to add an easter egg for the next film and it really was somewhat random.
About the mid-credits teaser for Thor: The Dark World, Kevin Feige clarified that both the Aether and Tesseract are indeed Infinity Gems. But when he's asked exactly which gem - Soul, Time, Space, Mind, Reality, Power - the Tesseract is meant to be, the Marvel producer said, "It is [codified in the cinematic universe]. I don’t know when we’ll actually divulge that necessarily, but it’s the space stone." But will the gems be the focus of Guardians of the Galaxy, or is it going to come into play throughout Phase 3? "Well the answer to the first question is both. It is both. And then, you know? Who knows? If they allow us to keep making movies, it will go a little bit further."
Loved it. Loved Loki, Jane, Sif, the expanded role for Elba, Asgard, the humor was on point, even Rene Russo gettin down. Really well done.
Just got back from watching it. Omfg this might be the best avengers movie I've seen.
Doing a movie marathon will post later.
Ok now for some questions. Pretty obvious that they would go the infinity gems route because that's what you think about when you think thanos, destruction, etc. What I don't get is them trying to say that the tesseract is one of the gems when it was suppose to be the cosmic cube (its even shaped like a cube ) the ending scene had me under the impression that Volstagg was saying that they had the tesseract AND as of right then and there 2 infinity gems before they handed 1 over to the collector (Benicio Del Toro is gonna be hilarious in that role) one being the mind gem which was in Loki's staff in Avengers and the other being the aether which I assumed was the reality gem. Now Feige is trying to insult our knowledge and say the cosmic cube is the space gem. I get that for cinematic purposes things have to change but hearing all this Netflix defenders series stuff and phase 2 hinting toward an infinity gauntlet I'm praying Feige has bitten off more than he can chew...
To be fair, they never specifically called it a cosmic cube int he film, they may have referred to it as a cube but I do not recall them calling it cosmic at all and this might be the reason why.
The Tesseracts power really is different from the Cosmic Cube, the Avengers film clearly showed that it's power is to open up gateways for space travel which is just what the space gem does.
The Cosmic Cube is more like a container of cosmic power that eventually evolve into it's own being.
Marvel is at liberty to change things up, hate it or love it. Hell they called it Infinity Stones instead of gems and the Aether itself isn't really a stone/gem in the movie and they didn't even show Asgardians retrieving it but I guess we'll just assume they managed to contain it even though they clearly said in the film that it was always looking for a host.
Also, the Aether is the power gem since it is red but I am not sure Malekith was trying to alter reality. He seems to just want to force "darkness" into the 9 realms by spreading the Aether and you can say he is just doing it by sheer force? Pushing the light out? It did give Malekith a good amount of strength and invulnerability going toe-to-toe w/ Thor. Really wasn't sure how Malekith died while possessing the Aether when a few minutes before he was being struck by Mjolnir w/o much harm to him. Will have to see it again because that ending was kind of muddy, I mean I get it but the explanation and jargon needs multiple viewings so I can fully understand what was actually happening.
I think they will still go with it even w/o those heroes, they are just going to be replaced by GotG and Dr Strange having a giagantic role.

they wouldn't dare cheat us like that
No choice.. Fox owns x-men and ff.. Sony Spider-Man
Yea.. Sadly, you would think someone would use common sense.. Have a partnership for 1-3 movies and call it that..
But then you have egos and all that
No choice.. Fox owns x-men and ff.. Sony Spider-Man
I know but money has to make these studios cooperate together. If for nothing else think about the potential they'll have for merchandising?! Just one movie, that's all I ask
