This is why Mac users think they are so special huh?

Mac is the way to go. I was a pc guy at first, but I bought a MAC and never looked back. I just bought my wife a MBP for black friday, shes loving it.
Here are some reasons why I love MAC.

-I dont have to buy a program to protect my computer

-Start up takes less than a minute (PC Takes about 3 min)

-Updates download very fast.

-No lag in anything and programs dont stop running in the middle of things.

how bout i /you with your ignorance?

so you say... not that good at computers you say? i used to think macs were garbage, stupid, waste of money, every word in the book. i was actually on my way to going to college for some computer stuff (i could easily fix a computer within minutes. i built gaming computers for friends, etc).

my cousin ended up getting a mac, and i bought one shortly after. canceled my application to school and went to school for something else.

i bet you that i can do everything you do on your PC in half the time and without my computer crashing or getting the BSOD
maybe you stopped cause PCs were too much for you.
and lol@ half the time. bro im sure your mac doesnt even have enough ram to run DC universe online.
mine doesnt, but to get 2 more gigs of ram to make it 5 costs me about...75 bucks.
how much would 2 gigs of ram cost for a mac?
assuming  that the extra ram would fit?

i didn't stop because it was too much for me, Mac's are better IN MY OPINION. and it's that simple. your opinion is otherwise.

are you mad that you can't afford a mac so you go around saying stupid %!%@? lol. you're funny. ever since Apple moved to Intel, the price of upgrading components for the Mac is the same price as a PC now.

it was $70 for 4GB of (DDR3, which is the newer and faster) RAM on my MacBook from 2008. it's probably cheaper now.

i also upgraded my harddrive to 500GB a while back for $100. i could get a TB, but i don't need the space

you really don't know what you're talking about.

shut up

lol my boy you on a core 2 duo.

get that piece of crap outta here. you bought used ram homie. dont make get to quoting 2010 prices.

of course your old $*% computer got cheap parts.

get a phenom II x4 then say something.

your computer even with that 4 gigs of ram couldnt even run pokemon red.

macs suck.

thats why no serious computer professionals use them.
only namby pamby artists.

i dont really care tho.
if it makes you happy using slow $*% over priced computers its all good.

i dont need customer service cause my computer has never messed up.
and if it did, it would cost me about 450 to get a brand new up to date computer within the hour thats killing any mac.

ignorance at its finest! how do i buy used RAM when DDR3 just came out in 2008?
laugh.gif

you didn't even READ what i said. my computer is from 2008, not 2010. in 2008, core 2 duo was the thing. i don't need up to date hardware to run WoW and have no girlfriend like some of you losers.

even with a computer from 2008, my computer runs

PC internals (processor/drives) cost less than mac ie. more power for less money.

OS X is equal in terms of functionality with windows 7.

-windows 7 has slightly superior file browsing interface

-OS X runs into significantly less viruses/spyware

-Compatibilty with printers/routers/peripherals is about equal. Windows 7 seemlessly intergrates and recognizes most as does OS X.

For a laptop I would choose a Macbook Pro.

-You can get a faster PC laptop for the price of a Macbook

-The hardware (touchpad/screen/battery life/weight/reliability) makes the price difference worth it.

-Most PC laptops feel plasticky and cheap compared to the Macbook.

-Gaming laptops look like %$#% and the battery life is just as ugly.

-The HP Envy line approaches the hardware quality of the Macbook but fails to match the Macbooks battery life/touchpad quality/firewire capability.

-All functions on the Macbook work very well.... close lid (macbook sleeps).. open lid (macbook wakes up).. battery dies COMPLETELY mid-session (plug charger in and, returns to same session) PC's tend to fail in these areas (usually buggy)

For a desktop I would choose a Windows 7 based PC

-Higher end components for cheaper price.

-Aesthetics don't really matter (you aren't going to carry tower around)

-Easier and cheaper to upgrade and maintain.

-You can get a faster computer + bigger screen than a relatively priced Mac.

The desktop difference is really just the operating system.(MAC has no significant mechanical superiority)

OS X lost its edge when Windows 7 dropped.

If you:

-Have no idea what to do if you get a virus/spyware = GET A MAC

-Want to play the latest games on your computer = GET A PC

-Want a laptop to do things other than gaming = GET A MAC (trust)

It just doesn't make sense to me, I've been shopping around and choosing between a PC and a Mac. What I can't figure out is why they aren't close in price.

I'm not the most tech savvy person but I have only got one virus ever and outside of the power supply going out on my Dell after 6 years I've had no issue with my PCs and fixing that only cost 50 bucks. My Dell is 10 years old and still works.

I mean the only reason I'm even considering a Mac is people say they run fast for years which has been an issue with my current laptop but its a bottom of line joint that's basically a netbook with a bigger screen.

I can get a decent PC with an i5 processor, a 640GB hard drive and 15.6HD screen for 650 bucks. Comparable Mac 2 grand.

Of course I plan on buying the PC but I need to know why anyone would waste money like this.

Apples are for people not that good at computers? Then why are they the industry standard in graphic design, photo/movie editing and music production? Yeah like I'm going to be running Final Cut Pro on a PC

And I used Windows 7, I actually have it on my PC.

I will say though ... Mac > PC. They're just so much more smoother, cleaner, and honestly, just look better.

What's the problem with loving the design of the OS and hardware? Nothing.

Feels weird using a PC now ... when I get a home it will be a Mac home.

why the stoneface?

you named NOTHING that proves him wrong. well, aside from you using windows 7. all you did was talk about it's looks.. which windows 7 delivers also.

but, we'll all buy what we're comfortable with and what appeals to us. i like being able to change components and actually get my money's worth.

i've gone the apple route, and it wasn't for me. too over priced and their stuff didn't live up to the hype. but that's just me. -shrug
what do you mean why the stone face.... $#@# claims that windows 7 is better then snow leopard. and if we dont think so we never used windows 7.

which is a pretty bold statement. and Bitter said he has used windows 7 and still prefers snow leopard.

Thats why he stone faced him.  what do you mean change components. you can change alot of stuff on mac. and get your moneys worth. Dont know one person that got a mac that regreted it. they all actually love it. if you can afford a mac, take the dive. if you cant.... well then you cant.

Yes PC is the cheaper side, but i know alot of people having problems, having a slow computer, getting a virus, etc. in terms of looks also, macs look and feel better then most PC computers. but thats just in my opinion.

the same tired argument. i've had my compaq laptop since 2005 and it's still going strong. if a MBP was the same price as the average windows laptop, the people with the MBP's wouldnt feel as "exclusive"
