It's a shame Griez got robbed today. Atleti had so many chances though it's like they didn't want it when it came to putting them away. Griez should be the hero though with a world class finish and assist.

The footy world needs to stop slacking and get goal line tech. This match just decided who the heavy favorite to win a title is and robbed a wonderful goal, and ruined a big match.

How does goal line tech help with calling offside? They also got a PK in their favor that wasnt one to begin with... i agree with the goal line tech just thought it was just to verify if it was a goal or not.

Goal line tech+review*

Like the NFL on scoring plays. Crazy thing is goals stop matches anyways so it wouldn't really disrupt the flow of the game that much to the point it isn't worth getting the call right if they take a page out of the NBA with the review center.

They should have those hang line cameras all around the pitch for more accurate reviewing

Like they do in the NBA or NFL

Only issue is, every club can't afford it or their stadium isn't equipped for supporting it. Those smaller clubs with backyard pitches or smaller leagues that make it to the CL don't always have big stadiums where you can have cameras hooked up all over the place.

But it's 2017. They can figure it out

They could also put RFID or some chip behind the players necks on the shirt and a watch on the offside officials wrist could buzz if it's offside

Removing the human element completely would be most ideal tho

Just add a chip in the ball with a scanner across the goal right behind the goal post have a loud *** siren and red light to indicate a goal... kinda like hockey hahaha im kidding

can't believe felipe luis doesn't get a red for a two footed slide tackle from behind on messi when their goal keeper is way out of goal.

ref was trash...

griez was onside

gameiro got a phantom penalty...he dived.

not too sure about roberto's red either

suarez's red was weak af too

Trust we're not waiting on the technology and costs is not an issue either. The technology is already there. Like the cameras and networks are literally already in the stadiums.

Look up ChryonHego/TRACAB advanced optics.

I know Bundesliga uses it but La Liga actually issued a mandate a few years ago, every club in the first division had to install the entire camera system in thier stadium.

They use it for free sharing of advanced stats and analytics, but if we can track every possible variation of angle and distance on key passes splitting RB/RCB for every zone on the field over the course of an entire La Liga season, we can get a damn offsides call right.

Need to issue mandates to these referee orgs.

Yup, easy, just have a replay/review center like the NBA has in NJ. It takes about 2 or 3 angles to at the most to determine if the player was on or off. You could already see that Griezmann was on in the first or second replay of the call. Would delay the game 30 seconds to a minute at most, usually the amount of time a player takes to celebrate and have the ball at midfield already.
