cmon you guys knowthesw millionaire athletes gonna get whatever meal they want. Thats just the standard complimentary. Which i personally would not mind. But yeah shake shack and more are ready

Lol only reason KD and Steph didn't go 3 for 3 was cause he got hurt and blew out his Achilles.

Heatles were supposed to dominate and destroy everything. They didn't. Even that peak season in 2013 where they won 27 in a row they went 7 with the Pacers and were as close to losing a title as we've ever seen in the modern era. Then get blown off the floor by a record margin the following season.

Not to mention 2011 which still as hot as Dallas was; inexcusable for them to lose in the fashion they did.

There were no less than 3 separate occasions where there was serious consideration to the team being blown up.

Completely fair given their own expectations and what everybody THOUGHT they'd be to say they underachieved.
I cant recall but did the Heatles receive a “ they were a disappointment” media narrative?

I think those wanting to see LeBron fail are the ones that were more likely to put those unrealistic projections on the Heat squads.

Knowing the HISTORY of the NBA, you know it is difficult to repeat, let alone 3-peat. Winning 3/4 is still a LOT to ask for from anyone.

I don't think those expecting them to "run through the League" (whatever that even means quantitatively speaking), we treating this as if it was a Simmed Franchise on NBA 2K.

This is revisionist history at it's finest. The Heat put those expectations on themselves. They thought it was going to be easy and they broke the league. It is difficult to 3 peat, takes incredible play, good health and a little bit of luck. And they were much closer (like literally a shot away) from being 1-3. That would be considered a failure.

I only ate in morton’s any of those other resto’s any good?

Palm is supposed to be pretty good. It's pretty similar to Morton's (upscale corporate steakhouse). Fertitta's company bought it out earlier this year, though, so guaranteed the quality has dropped. Anytime something goes from family-owned to corporate, it takes a hit.

bron going to the heat reminded me that i had to go back to my 9 to 5 the next day after they chalked up an L

They threw a Victory Parade before even playing a game together

They definitely thought they were going to end up with more than just 2 rings.

As I mentioned earlier, them saying that foolishness at their Press Conference doesn't factor into what EYE felt the projections should have been.

But we can agree to disagree.

The Heatles run can be simultaneously not a failure and also disappointing/underachieving. Both things can be true.
Anyone calling it a FAILURE is just #NTExtremes IMO

Well you're in the minority Jemele. I would like to ask what your expectations and projections were at the time though putting 3 top 15-20 (including 2 top 5 players) at the time all in their primes together, but then again I don't really care cause it's not in the moment.

4 of those places, including Morton’s, are steak houses. The other two are seafood spots. I’d guess they’re all about the same level of Morton’s (and other big chain places). Food is good - depending on what you order - but overpriced. Of course, the NBA players don’t have to worry about the prices, so its probably good for them to have those places as options.

I understand I am in the minority.

I honestly didn't make any predictions. I generally don't unless I see a NT dude making a wild statement that I ask them to, "Put some money up." But in terms of a long term, "How many rings will they win" type of prediction, too many moving parts for me to even try and predict something like that.

Four straight Finals is impressive as hell and three-peating is difficult but that Heat team winning two out of four was a disappointment based on the expectations LeBron set.
Based on this logic, are we going to always hold what a PLAYER says as the standard of which a team is expected to play?

(Forget COVID Happened) Hypothetically speaking, if on 09/23/2019, Ben Simmons claimed, "The 76ers will win the title this year" and they didn't, would we base our exceptions of the 76ers chances simply on what HE said? Would HIS words not being accurate determine whether or not we view the season as a success or failure?

Zach Lowe talked about the Heatles on one of his recent pods and how he thinks Riley did a really poor job filling out the team in that first year. Gave 30 year old Mike Miller a 5 year deal and then signed other aging players like Juwan Howard (37), Zydrunas Ilgauskus (35), Ericka Dampier (35), Eddie House (32), and Mike Bibby (32), all of whom ended up contributing very little.

LeBron's performance in the 2011 finals and Wade in the 2014 finals were definitely disappointments.

Saying the 4 year run as a whole is a disappointment/failure is definitely some #NTExtremes.

You already know what type of time MVP MVP on

Heatles was both a success and disappointment

Disappointment because of Bronzo “not 1 not 2”....

Success because it they won 2/4 finals and made Miami a destination team even tho theyve been pretty average since
