I know people want sports to come back, but I don’t think most people are going to like empty arena playoffs
 
Both Vegas and FL got imbeciles running the city and state. All they're seeing is $$$ too from whatever revenue they'll potentially bring in as Disney and the casinos in Vegas are dead. We'll see though. Decision is going to drag well into June before a decision is made more than likely.
 
My bro had it, re-tested negative last week though. He wasnt bad at all, I woudnt call him being completely asymptomatic but ive seen his allergies hit him way worse put it that way. And thats the potentially devastating thing about it, you can think its allergies or a cold or whatever and its actually covid. Thank god he wasnt really coughing so much so it was easy to contain as we just cleaned the crib, especially bathroom profusely and he wore a mask whenever he left his room. Only got tested cause his manager tested positive.

To me it a no brainer, end the season. Difference between now and October may not be a cure or whatever but hopefully less people overall have it compared to now.
 
Roy from Sigfried and Roy just passed away from COVID. None of the coaches are as old as him (75), but guys like Pop and D'Antoni are close. It's worrisome. And any amount of money/great doctors doesn't seem like it can help you..

production wise, they can work around it for tv
players going to have to get use to the no home court adv
i just dont see nba completing the season without someone testing positive if they are going to test daily
they might just have to roll with the fact that players will test positive and have to sit out. if a team loses a couple key players for weeks in the playoffs, that's just the unfortunate outcome

Players young and healthy (yeah yeah young people can get hit hard) but coaches and staff, yeah no. Too risky.

That sounds beyond awful

* on the champ/season for sure if teams were missing their best players

That makes the winner of this "Playoff"* (yes, it deserves both quotation marks and an asterisk) even more suspect. Just take a step back and think about it....folks downplay GSW's title in 2015 because Kyrie and Love got injured and Cavs' title in 2016 because because of Dray's suspension, Bogut and Iggy injuries, etc.

Could you imagine the disrespect a champion would get if they made a title run after a recess that was almost as long as an offseason with their opponents missing key players due to COVID-19?

Continuity or not, it just seems bizarre to pick up after so long and try to complete the previous with drastically different circumstances in an unprecedented atmosphere.

I have serious concerns injuries will happen too with what they’re proposing. Going from zero -
like real zero - to playoffs in a month is very accelerated.

You posted this while I was typing but that's my point...no. It's not like an injury or the flu or anything that would generally cause a player to miss time. It's a highly contagious virus with no known vaccine and undetermined long-term effects.

People didn't like the new format all-star game ending on free throw but y'all are gonna be cool with the season ending in a fanless gym somewhere at Disney World with a team that won because they played virus-ridden opponents?
 
If the players are gonna be in a bubble all in the same hotel with no poonchang for a month, we’re about to see some of the worst playoff basketball ever.

Imagine sneaking a thot in though. The HUB is salivating at all the possibilities of a flick.

In a “Word on the Beach” issue released back in November has stated that Embiid plays worse when his girl kept him up all night. This might be a win for the 6ers
