Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel according to reports in Holland.
The Dutch international has been tracked by a host of Premier League clubs all summer with Manchester United, Manchester City interested as well as European giants AC Milan and Inter Milan.
But it now appears that Andre Villas-Boas has beaten them to the highly-rated 23-year old’s signature in a deal worth around €32m.

Honestly, I CAN'T see Lille selling Hazard this late into the transfer window with no time to get a replacement. I don't buy it, it's not a smart move, they're still a top contender in Ligue 1, they're in the Champions League, they won't screw this up. Doubt he leaves, it just doesn't make enough sense for them.

Gervinho was a huge part of them winning the title last season, but he is gone and he was never replaced by anybody.
