The Ultimate Football Thread 2013-2014 Vol. 4 EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A etc

Even with Friday's hat-trick of new signings, according to today's Football focus, once the Bale deal is finally completed, a comparison of the players in vs players out transfer fees show Spurs have actually made £2 million profit over the summer window

Further proof that there isn't a better chairman in football right now than Levy.

SuperCup was a decent watch. Pep getting another one over Mou :pimp:

And LOL @ Mou's delusional rant afterward. Protesting the second yellow and then saying "the better team clearly lost." This after getting dominated in every aspect of play for 120 minutes. So bitter.

Bayern looked pretty good, though their finishing this season continues to be poor. Always difficult to navigate a deep defensive block, but a lot of the build up and attacking play was excellent - flowing, yet incisive. And Pep's influence is pretty clear in the ferocity of their pressing. Another few months of adapting to the system, and w/ their midfield kingpin fit and back in central pivot, they'll be a force. Be interesting to see if/when Gotze breaks into the first choice XI. He's the biggest German talent so his quality will see him get there eventually. I can see him forcing Robben out, Muller to the right, and lining up with Kroos/Thiago in the more advanced playmaker position.

Chelsea were Chelsea. Defended resolutely, broke quickly, and had some good chances on the counter. Yawn.

Handbags.

EDIT

Actually, that was pretty dirty by Fellaini...

at Rise and them just backing off him. As if they don't know how good his left foot is.

Sporting vs Benfica, The Lisbon derby. Traditional and rich history here but to put it in comparison, Sporting have become the Arsenal of the Portuguese league. No titles in a decade. Watch if you can, take a break from all that premiership long ball, tackle, long ball, shoot, deflection type of footy.
