It's been a looooong time since I've seen this particular model with a perfect sandblasted bezel. Great pics. Most of them are clapped out so take care of that one.

Haven't been active in this thread for awhile. My net worth dropped heavy with watch prices trending downward.

Tom Brady's timing was impeccable to say the least.

I am pretty heavily invested in AP, and for a very long time they were quite great. I love some new releases, like the mini oak (not for me personally) and the ultra thin perpetual calendar. Other than that it's just way too many limited editions pieces, especially the abundance of gem set pieces, just cause.

I bought an aquanaut off my friend for over sticker and it's 15 years old. I don't think it's remotely worth what I paid but for whatever reason I keep running back to it, maybe because it's so nondescript.

I would love to own a Daytona rose gold oyster flex with the new bezel and seeing that they're trading so close to MSRP plus tax I feel like it's not that hard an ask.

I have an opportunity to buy another "heavy" piece in the coming weeks.

On my list are a bunch of APs: 15202BC, 16202BA, 16204BA, etc.

My major concern with spending 6 figures on an AP is what AP is going to do to further tarnish their brand image (at least in my eyes).

From a business perspective, I understand what they are doing with their collabs and trying to appeal to the next generation of watch enthusiast.

But as someone who has half a head full of gray hairs, there's nothing appealing about a brand collaborating with Kaws, Travis Scott, etc.

I may just say f*ck it and buy a 5961p and call it a day...

Would y’all buy a Rolex without papers?

A reputable jeweler (with some celebrity clients) has a big selection that don’t have papers. Worth it or nah?

Just because they have celebrity clients doesn't mean anything.

Jimminy boy in houston has celebrity clients but sells fake cartier bracelets with fake cartier stamps

i honestly think you are better off going AD or legit resellers like Takuya or davidsw if you are willing to go a used route

rolex does cpo these days as well but those are priced way above market value

always rethink if its too good to be true...

If the right deal comes along, there's nothing wrong with buying without papers.

Just know it's going to be that much harder to sell the watch if and when the time comes (think of it akin to selling a car with a clean Carfax vs. bad).

I would also avoid buying higher end watches without papers.

In fact, the higher end you go, the more important having a full set is.

For example, when I was shopping for my platinum Daytona I was only looking at watches with new card, white tag, etc.

No sense in cheaping out when you're spending that much money...

now also in 38mm, imma stick to the 36mm without the date though

I’ve said for a long time that once they do the 38mm in decent colors, I’d cop.

But having picked up a 40mm recently (which is actually 39mm without the crown guards), I don’t think I can justify the cost of replacing my current one with a brand new one in the same color. Even though I think 38mm would be/is perfect for me.
(Posted a pic on my ~6.6” wrist on the last page)

Now if they did a true navy or a dark burgundy or even a black… I might not be able to resist.

Ask for their return policy. Then if you have a Rolex service center close by have them appraise it. It’ll be $150 but it’s worth it.
