What are some Rolex that you’d recommend that are at least 40mm and under 8k?

Thoughts on this Explorer II 16570?
That polar white dial really pops
Just won one at an auction yesterday. Didn't see that coming. Fun piece. Great proportions. Prefer it to the modern one. Like that it's not as hot as the others, so it's different. Don't mind a new Pepsi though.
$5k including premium. With B+P. Was expecting someone to outbid me. The ones I'm seeing at the moment for the white one are at the 5.8k mark. Old and new dials seem to have similar pricing. So just choose which configuration you like the most (tritium / superluminova dial, old clasp / clasp with the flip lock)How much did you get it for?
And how new of one with the white dial do you think I could find for sub $6k?

Congrats!!
In terms of wear can you describe the difference? I've been hesitant to go "vintage" because of tech concerns but my opinions have kinda changed as improvements in regards to wristwatces are incremental.
I've been thinking about the 16550..
This dude I know was trying to sell me on the cheapest he could get me one of those Explorers with the white dial would be one from 10-11 years ago for $7k
Not even gonna bother with him anymore
Congrats!!

Really depends on the condition. But prices are between 5.8-6.5k
The one I got was 1994. Don't really mind the age, as long as the condition is great. Will need a service no matter how old at this point. I just preferred this folding clasp to the one with a flip lock. Feels better on wrist. What’s the oldest year that you’d go for the Explorer II?

Would you make sure to only buy one that has the box and papers?
And if you bought one without box and papers what’s the most you’d pay for it?
it'll keep restocking like the marlin and all metal gshocks, those initial releases sold out too but now readily available and can even be had on a discount
