The world’s largest video game collection is now available to purchase, Ars Technica reports, as collector Michael Thomasson, who has bought more than 11,000 video games and over 100 game consoles over the last 20 years needs the money to better support his family. Bidding started at $1 on Wednesday at GameGavel, and in a mere six days, the price topped $100,000 – though the reserve price has not been met yet.

Thomasson told Retro that he has been collecting games and consoles since the 80s, with his yearly budget for purchasing games and gaming systems being somewhere around $3,000. The gamer’s collection was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest such collection in the world in July 2013, two years after he submitted his claim, time during which his collection was thoroughly cataloged.

His full collection, as documented by the Guinness World Records, is available for sale, and he won’t be holding any title or platform back.

“I have over 11,000 individual and unique games, and growing. I purchase on average about two games a day. I keep to a regimented budget and have limited myself to approximately $3,000 a year for the past 20 years,” Thomasson told Retro. “Most of the games released before the ’90s are loose (with some exceptions) while most since are complete. About a third of the collection is still factory sealed and shrink-wrapped.”

The avid gamer further added this won’t stop him for starting a new collection from scratch, once his existing one is sold. He has already started buying copies of his favorite games from the collection he’s about to sell.

This is what social media does. Create sensations like Terio and just watch them deteriorate. It's really sad what they did to that boy. And for what? Our society is disgusting.

yessir. Freshman year of college. My knee swelled up 3x it's size when I had to go back from winter break. Got it checked out and had fluid drained from it. I was on PT for 2 months before they did an MRI that showed a partial ACL and meniscal tear. Was not good at all. I continued PT the day after my surgery. I kid you not, it took me 45 min to go ONE revolution backwards on the exercise bike. I couldn't bend my knee at all. It got better but the initial stages are a *****. I literally was in rehab from the day after I got back to school until the day before I was time for summer break. So 6-8 months might be your range.

Thanks for sharing. :smokin

Keep pushing through the pain man. It should be better after 2 weeks or so depending upon your pain tolerance.
