Man this is a load of crap. When I was in high school I worked at car rental place in the wash bay and we never turned off the cars while refueling them. Hell I have driven off with the nozzle still in the tank. I also leave it running  all the time in the winter when I don't want to turn my heater off. 

Damn, all these years I thought I was going to blow the whole place sky-high if I left the car running...good to know.

I know. My friend would have full on panic attacks when I do that with him in the car. 

The thing you don't want to do is drop something under the seat and fish around for it rubbing your hands all over the carpet and then touch the nozzle. That will ignite the fumes very quickly.

It does, I still warm the car in the summer. May take less time, but I still do it.

I have a 2011 Camry and didn't think I had to since it's a newer car

Usually 10-15 min. I have a 2010 Dodge Caliber. New or not idc, I'm not trying to ruin my car
