Obviously I spent more time playing in thr 16-bit era than any other era but I would say peak gaming (lb for lb) was produced by the Ps2.
Now that "era" didn't have much competition since the Saturn didn't meet expectations and the N64 was kinda something different in its own right.
My friend and I would trade systems. Genesis for Turbo. It was a Saturn (quality wise) like system. He didn’t have a lot of games. But Legenday Axe, Blazing Lasers, and Ys Book 1 and 2. Definitely was the first to showcase the power of CDROM in the states with the cutscenes and red book audio. Fighting Street controlled just as bad bad as the arcade street fighter lol.

6 Rings G.O.A.T. I've found it’s never too late to discover the greatness of old games. I didn’t catch on with Final Fantasy games til about 10-15 years ago, really thanks to Kingdom Hearts. Think I’ll eventually give Zelda another try. I’m one of them that always thought Link was Zelda lol.
