The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I'm cool with the 4.5. I don't have a 4k tv yet so I won't cop. Now if they pull some bs and be like "*insert game* only on PS4.5 " I'd be heated

I definitely don't need 2 PS4s.  So if there's a way to turn it in and get the Neo for ~$100-150.  I'd be down.  Just gotta put the 500GB HDD back in it and put the 2TB in the Neo.  I may or may not do this.

Neo is gonna confuse the (below) average consumer, or parents trying to get consoles for their kids.

About to watch PS I Love You and am expecting Colin to go off on one.

Introducing Pyre, the new PS4 game from the creators of Transistor and Bastion
Check out Supergiant Games’ upcoming RPG, due out in 2017
About the game
In Pyre, you lead a band of exiles through an ancient competition spread across a vast, mystical purgatory.

Pyre once again showcases our small team’s commitment to rich atmospheric presentation and storytelling, along with a distinctive gameplay blend that combines expressive decision making on the world map with fast, action-packed confrontations against rival groups of exiles whose own freedom is at stake. We want to create a large cast of characters you can grow close to as you travel together across a strange and wondrous land.
Availability
Pyre will be making its console debut on PS4 in 2017. We’ll have more details about the exact time closer to release

Liked Transistor and Bastion so this is an automatic buy at this point.

Good thing I already have 2TB

But if they drop a 500 GB 4.5, and then cheese us with a HD we can't swap out or some other special type of bs, imma be hot :lol

Can't wait I loved supergiants first two games so I'm excited for this

I see alot of his points. Especially saying Sony should have just waited 2-3 years and released this all on the PS5.

I'm siding more with Greg on this one. I think Colin is overreacting but I expect similar reactions from some consumers.
What I do agree with him on is that, they have to market this properly as it can easily go wrong, MS 2013 style.

Also, it's a business and being pro-active is better than reactionary. Imagine if the NX takes off and MS makes their own upgraded console as the rumors suggests.
PS4 suddenly goes from being the most powerful console to the weakest. I know being the weakest didn't hurt the PS2 at all but times have changed.

4K is also pretty big for Sony and it's probably the whole point of this so pimping the PS4 to support UHD Blu-Ray makes sense.

I'll be interested to see how this all plays out. It's one of those things I wouldn't have predicted would happen.

They both made great points but I think Colin is overreacting a bit. Again, nobody is being forced to upgrade. Just like Greg said, nothing that's been leaked so far has made me want this new PS4. I think we'll have new Xbox and PS5 by 2018, 2019 at the latest. I'm perfectly fine with using my current PS4 for another 2, 3 years. I don't even have a 4K TV and to be honest I'd rather build a PC which is something I've been wanting do for a while. As long as Sony doesn't start giving special exclusive perks to NEO, I could care less.

Basically. I can't justify a $500+ Canadian retail to be stuck with another 500GB
I can't justify it even in American money papi

I'm saying...

I was mad about PS4 having 500GB.

If these bums give us a lux model PS4 w/ the same HD it's a slap in the face.

I honestly won't even be happy w/ 1TB at this point, I want 2TB's, dammit.

These asshats charged me like $100 for a Vita memory card, they can throw 2TB's in my damn Neo.

If the PS4K have the 500 GB..

I'm expecting it to be 500GB. For Sony, if they can sell the PS4.5 at $349 w/500GB, they will pull the trigger on it.

2TB PS4K for $469.99.

I'll be down for that.

I just don't hope that come Feb. 2018, SONY announces PS5.

Well I mean, they're going to. This new ps4 from the specs isn't enough of a leap to halt any other next gen stuff. a new gen was gonna happen in 2018-2019 regardless of any hardware in between

Yea, true.

games are going to be the same size so there isn't a big reason to increase the hdd

people with titans dont download bigger games than people with 950s

a ps5 in 2 years

, some people have little understanding of the current state of graphics technology, and those that do, barely understand it either

it would probably be the smallest generational jump in history, ps4 to ps5, the only way it comes close to happening is if that other company tries to cut the gen short again

That's exactly the reason to increase it, because games today are massive and the 500GB was a joke to begin with.

Arkham Knight took up like 60GB... :lol

I can only have like 10 games on my PS4 before I have to delete something, it's silly.
