That volley at set point in the first tho. Not surprised at the result. When the pressure is at a minimum (non-GS) he swings freely and confidently. When he tightens up, that Swiss precision becomes gawd awful. Didn't help that Djoker wasn't playing at his best either.

Long time no post for me as have been moving house. Anyway I finally got round to going to the ATP world tour finals yesterday and thought I would share my experiences. I have been meaning to go ever since it arrived in London as its two hours from my doorstep but never quite had the time so this year I made it happen.
The good:
It's easy to get a ticket - I bought mine Tuesday for Wednesday Pm session and saw Murray v Nadal
The O2 as anyone who has been to a concert there will know is a good venue pretty easy to get to and with some good bars and restaurants. The seating plan is also really good with good viewing angles throughout even if you are up high. It's organised and efficient. I can see why the ATP signed up again recently.
There is a decent fan zone there which besides all the usual sponsor stands the practise courst are right here - saw Stan warming up for his evening match with Ferrer and gosh can Magnus still hit a ball cleanly.
The attempts to. create an atmosphere in the venue are reasonably successful with a bit of Davis Cup and US Open style affects but not too much it gets too cheesy or contrived except the music. The screens showing repeats are clear and can be seen from all angles.
The bad
The format of one singles match which is best of three sets means I felt a bit short changed. You buy one ticket for the afternoon session or evening session which gets you one singles match which was over in less than two hours. Most of the round robin matches have been the same. The first set was competitive but Murray tanked it in the second. That's not the organisers fault but if they are going to charge £50- £70 for one singles match they should make it best of 5, or allow up you access to the evening match as well or lower the price. Compared to Wimbledon it's not good value and would certainly stop me going again (at least to the round robin stages).
The music they play between changeovers is totally out of place at a British tennis tournament, at one point an unedited version of Macklemore downtown comes on and the mostly senior crowd around me looked pretty uncomfortable. It just does not fit with our culture and crowd.
Overall if you are in London at the time it's on its worth going but just be warned its expensive for what you get.

While there were some fantastic points, the quality could have been a bit better... a few too many UFE's.
That backhand-crosscourt to setup matchpoint was ridiculous. To generate that much pace, in full-stretch, was impressive.
The last ATP match of the season, but we still have @britkicks' Davis Cup next week! Hope things don't get too wild in Belgium!

Nole gets revenge.
4th straight ATP Finals trophy. 82-6 for the year. He'll head into 2016 with tied H2H records against both Rafa and Fed.
It's sad he doesn't get the respect he deserves for such an amazing year.

Yes looking forward to it immensely. Not worried about Andy's form this week. He didn't want to play the world finals ever since Belgium chose clay and it showed. He has said that the Davis cup was his priority since the Open loss and his demenaur showed it.
Biggest worry at the moment is wether it actually will go ahead in Belgium as planned given Brusssels is in a state of emergency. If we were too win it would be a phenomenal success given our only one top player. Lets see.

Yeah, they said that they delayed their trip by a day to make sure the security was ok... or something like that. Definitely a bit uneasy now.
Interesting that he had his team sit up in the stands so that he wouldn't berate them when things wouldn't go well. A different mental approach by Muzz. It's something he needs to change, definitely.
Another thing is that Muzz doing his job isn't enough. Need the other guys to step up. We saw it with Maria in the Fed Cup.

It's really amazing to see the absolute dominance of Roger, Rafa and Nole in the past 10+ years. Never thought I'd see someone as successful as Roger, then Rafa comes around. Then, just when I thought Rafa couldn't be stopped, Nole ascends and continues on his historic run.
On the subject of the lack of respect/love for Nole, it's just going to be tough. Most fans had already pledged their allegiance to either Fed or Nadal and Djoker didn't do himself any favors by his early career antics. Still, it can't be disputed, he's just playing on another level. Not like I'm going out on a limb or anything, but safe to say Nole has a better chance of catching Roger's GS record than Rafa at this point.

What I love about the Rafa, Roger and Nole rivalry is that each guy is the previous guy's kryptonite. Roger's one handed backhand can't handle Rafa's heavy forehand. Rafa's heavy forehand can't handle Nole's powerful backhand and crazy movement. Nole's backhand can't handle Roger's aggressive forehand when it's clicking.
